Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Williams.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my career as a therapist working with children, guided by the belief that helping them meant shaping the future. Over time, I came to recognize that this focus was also rooted in my own insecurity—specifically, a fear of not being taken seriously as a young clinician. As my experience broadened, my work naturally expanded to supporting entire families, and it was there that I discovered a particular strength and calling in serving couples.
With that clarity, I pursued specialized training to deepen my skill and confidence. Following the pandemic, I transitioned into private practice with a focused commitment to couples work. Now, four years into practice, I am grateful for the privilege of walking alongside countless couples as they pursue healing, connection, and their journey to better.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been an easy one. I began building my practice in the midst of the pandemic, while relocating to a new state due to my husband’s military service and welcoming a newborn into our family. In that season, my professional skills were challenged in moving beyond being an effective therapist, but how to lead and sustain a business—two very different skill sets that required time, humility, and perseverance to integrate.
I pursued extensive training during seasons marked by sleep deprivation, the absence of a local support system, and significant personal hardship, including the unexpected loss of my mother. Along the way, I also navigated the birth of my second child and another cross-country move, all while expanding my practice into a group model and entering the final stretch of a doctoral program.
It has not been a simple journey, but it has been one marked by deep purpose, steady growth, and the unmistakable grace of God
