Conversations with Angela Deacon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Deacon.

Hi Angela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am currently entering my 5th year in real estate. I have sold over 80 homes in my 4 years in the field as well as buying and renovating 5 homes to use as short-term rentals. My previous career was in education as a behavior specialist and I have a PhD in education which also allowed me to teach at the university level which I have always enjoyed. I looked at real estate, especially with first time home buyers, as an opportunity to teach them the process of buying or selling a home. I encourage questions in the process and never feel that any amount of questions is too much. I believe my background in education and owning a small business prior to beginning my real estate career has given me an edge on understanding on how work hard and learn as much as I can about selling homes. I am extremely passionate about my endeavors and my career in education is no different. I love houses and showing homes is so fun for me so whether my clients look at one house or 25, I am happy to assist. It is an exciting career for me and I love getting to know my clients and making new connections.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey in real estate is not always easy as each house sale can be unique and while one sale may be easy, others can be difficult in some cases. Under either circumstance, I feel blessed to be able to help my clients and find them a home they love. The 2025 market was not an easy market but I increased my sales from the prior year so I believe that to be a success for me. I believe the 2026 year will be a great year for home sales.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a real estate agent who has had great success in the four years I have been in the market. I have also bought 5 homes and renovated them to become short-term rentals. I love both aspects of this new found career after being in education for 30 years and owning a competitive cheer gym for 16 of those years. I worked in education and ran my competitive cheer gym which essentially was two full time jobs so I decided to retire from both and began my career in real estate. The competitive nature of owning a gym really has pushed me into having a strong drive in being a competitive real estate agent which has helped with having a good amount of sales over the past 4 years. My work in education has empowered me to understand the impact of teaching my clients about the home buying process with patience and care. I believe my desire to build relationships with my clients and to provide knowledge to assist them with the home buying process really sets me apart from other agents.
