Today we’d like to introduce you to Shana Mims.
Shana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Shana Mims | Founder, Pharaoh Prosperity Group
My journey didn’t start with a perfect business plan or a safety net—it started with responsibility, faith, and the decision to bet on myself.
I’m a mother, a business leader, and an entrepreneur shaped by real life experiences—including a difficult divorce that forced me to rebuild emotionally, financially, and professionally. That season taught me resilience, self-trust, and the importance of ownership—over my time, my money, and my future.
Like many women, I spent years balancing corporate leadership roles while quietly building something of my own. I worked full-time managing operations, people, and systems, but what I saw every day—especially in underserved communities—was a lack of access to real financial education. People weren’t just struggling with taxes; they were struggling with understanding money, credit, and long-term stability.
I started in tax preparation because it was practical, needed, and impactful. Taxes became my entry point into people’s lives, but education became my mission. What began as helping friends and family file returns turned into building Pharaoh Prosperity Group, a financial services and education company focused on helping individuals and entrepreneurs build legacy, not just refunds.
The growth wasn’t overnight. I rebuilt, rebranded, and learned through trial and error—often while carrying personal responsibilities and healing from major life transitions. Over time, Pharaoh Prosperity Group expanded to include tax preparation, credit education, software solutions for tax professionals, training programs, and mentorship for those who want to step into entrepreneurship themselves.
Today, I lead multiple brands under the Pharaoh umbrella and support tax professionals across states. I’m especially passionate about helping women regain confidence after financial or personal setbacks and teaching systems that create stability, compliance, and long-term wealth.
My story is still being written. I’m building brick by brick—with faith at the center, legacy in mind, and a commitment to helping others rise, even after life knocks them down.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. The journey has been anything but smooth, and that’s exactly what shaped me.
One of the most challenging seasons was building a business while navigating major personal transitions, including a difficult divorce. I was forced to rebuild emotionally, financially, and professionally—often at the same time—while still showing up as a mother and a leader. There were periods where survival came before strategy, and I had to learn how to make clear decisions under pressure.
Professionally, I faced the realities many entrepreneurs encounter but don’t always talk about openly. I switched mentors more than once, changed software companies, and learned—sometimes the hard way—who I could trust and who I couldn’t. Each transition came with financial risk, operational disruption, and lessons in discernment. Those experiences taught me to slow down, ask better questions, and stop outsourcing my confidence.
I also had to navigate limited capital, compliance learning curves, hiring challenges, and rebranding as the business evolved. Growth required restructuring systems that no longer served me and having the courage to start over when necessary.
Through it all, my faith became my anchor. When guidance from people fell short, I learned to rely more heavily on God’s direction. Trusting Him sharpened my intuition, strengthened my resilience, and kept me grounded in purpose during uncertain seasons.
None of it was easy—but every challenge strengthened my leadership and clarified my mission. What once felt like setbacks became preparation, and I now lead with wisdom, faith, and confidence earned through experience.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Pharaoh Prosperity Group?
Pharaoh Prosperity Group is a financial services and education company built to help individuals and entrepreneurs move from survival to stability—and ultimately, legacy. Our work is guided by a simple but powerful belief: Your Legacy, Our Purpose.
At our core, we specialize in tax preparation, tax software solutions, and professional training for tax preparers. We also provide credit education, compliance guidance, and business mentorship for those who want to build sustainable, ethical financial service businesses of their own. While taxes may be the entry point, education and empowerment are the foundation of everything we do.
One of the most meaningful expansions of our brand is our money management program, which was born directly from my own journey with money. After navigating personal and financial rebuilding, I realized that many people don’t struggle because they lack income—but because they were never taught how to manage, protect, or plan with what they have. That experience drove me to create a program centered on budgeting, mindset, cash flow awareness, and long-term financial habits that support generational wealth.
What sets Pharaoh Prosperity Group apart is our emphasis on systems, compliance, and confidence. We don’t just help clients get a refund—we help them understand their numbers. And we don’t just provide software to tax professionals—we train them on how to use it correctly, market responsibly, and operate within IRS guidelines. Our focus is sustainability, integrity, and long-term success.
Pharaoh Prosperity Group is especially known for supporting women and first-generation entrepreneurs who may not come from traditional financial backgrounds. Many of our partners and clients are building something for the first time, and we meet them with structure, accountability, and mentorship—not judgment.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the community we’ve built and the transformation we see daily. Watching tax professionals grow into confident business owners and seeing individuals repair their relationship with money is the heart of our work. Everything we do reflects our mission: helping people build something that lasts.
What I want readers to know is that Pharaoh Prosperity Group isn’t just a tax company—it’s a movement centered on ownership, education, and generational impact. Your legacy matters—and it’s our purpose to help you protect and grow it.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Discernment.
Discernment has allowed me to make clear decisions in uncertain seasons—whether that meant switching mentors, changing systems, walking away from opportunities that didn’t align, or trusting God’s direction when external advice fell short. It’s the ability to pause, evaluate, and choose alignment over urgency.
Closely tied to that is resilience. I’ve learned how to keep going through personal and professional setbacks without losing my integrity or vision. Together, discernment and resilience have shaped how I lead, how I build, and how I protect the mission behind my brand.
Those qualities keep me grounded in my purpose and focused on what truly matters: building legacy with intention.
“Discernment keeps me aligned; resilience keeps me moving.”
