Hi Ashley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Frisco Pet Grooming has long been a part of the community, and when the opportunity arose to take ownership, it felt like a natural next step for Jackie, who had been grooming at the salon for years, and her sisters, Stefanie and Ashley. Jackie’s experience gave us deep familiarity with the clients, the pets, and the day-to-day operations, creating a seamless transition.
Building on that foundation, the three of us officially took over the business with a shared vision: to honor what the original founder, Steve Arnold, built and preserve what clients love, while thoughtfully evolving the salon. Today, we’re focused on growing a welcoming, high-quality grooming experience for pets and their families, supported by a strong team and a clear plan for the future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely wasn’t a perfectly smooth road, but that’s part of the adventure of small business ownership! Taking over an established salon meant rolling up our sleeves and learning fast, especially when it came to systems, finances, and long-term planning, all while keeping the doors open and the pets happy.
Thankfully, we’re not afraid of hard work (or a little chaos). Leaning on our teamwork as sisters and Jackie’s experience in the salon helped us navigate the bumps. Each challenge has made us better owners, and today the business is becoming stronger, more organized, and set up for growth…with plenty of lessons learned and a few good stories along the way.
