Today we’d like to introduce you to Troy Perkins.
Hi Troy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My parents had many rental properties during my childhood. I received a dual major in Real Estate and Finance at SMU, earning my broker’s license before graduating. After college I started a buyer’s brokerage. After starting Umovefree apartment locating and selling it in 2004, I went back to traditional residential sales, focusing exclusively in Las Colinas. With the exception of a few development deals, my agents and I only focus on Las Colinas.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not struggles, I prefer “opportunities”. Major events like 9/11/2001, mortgage problems of ’08 and covid have made for interesting times. Most recently, the nationwide lawsuit with NAR has put commissions at the beginning of a major change.
