Today we’d like to introduce you to Jana Del Nero.
Jana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Brazil, São Paulo State.
My professional journey began in the business world, where I spent 16 years working in finance, a career that taught me discipline, responsibility, and resilience, but that one day stopped speaking to my heart.
In 2015, life surprised us. My husband received a job offer to relocate to upstate New York, and we packed our lives and moved with our 7-year-old daughter, stepping into what would become the greatest adventure of our lives. And as if the universe wanted to make that chapter unforgettable, a beautiful “accident” happened: I got pregnant during our very first month in the US. But I promise, it was not a plan to secure an American baby! It was simply life unfolding in the most unexpected and magical way.
For a while, I embraced motherhood fully. I became a mom, a wife, and a homemaker, roles that filled my days with love, but also awakened a quiet longing inside me. When my son was almost two years old, I felt a deep calling to reconnect with myself and rebuild my professional identity. Going back to my old career in Brazil no longer made sense. It didn’t fit the woman I had become, nor the life I was living. I needed flexibility, purpose, and something that would light me up from the inside.
That’s when I chose to follow my heart.
I have always loved eyebrows. Long before it became my profession, I was the “go-to” brow artist for family and friends, shaping, designing, and enhancing their brows purely for the joy of it. For free! So one day I asked myself: Why not microblading? It was trendy, yes, but more importantly, it was something that had already transformed my own life.
In 2019, I drove two hours from home to take my first course. That single decision changed everything. I discovered not only a new career, but my greatest talent and passion, something that finally felt aligned with who I truly am.
The journey, however, was far from linear. I built a successful business in New York, only to start over again when we moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, once more because of my husband’s job. I rebuilt, and once again, succeeded. Two years later, life asked me to be brave again, another move, this time to Texas. And once again, I started from zero.
Today, after less than two years here, I am still rebuilding my rhythm, refining my skills, evolving my artistry, and constantly striving to offer the very best to every woman who trusts me.
Because for me, it’s never just about eyebrows.
It’s about connection. It’s about making a woman feel seen, valued, and powerful. When someone lies on my treatment bed, my goal is to make her feel like a queen. With a new frame on her face, I don’t just enhance her features. I help reflect the confidence, beauty, and strength she already carries within her soul.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. My journey involved starting over multiple times due to international and interstate moves, each time rebuilding my business, client base, and professional identity from scratch. I faced challenges adapting to new regulations, cultures, and markets, while also balancing entrepreneurship with motherhood. There were moments of uncertainty, fear, and self-doubt, but each challenge strengthened my resilience, sharpened my skills, and reinforced my sense of purpose.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a permanent makeup artist specializing in eyebrow design, including microblading and powder brows techniques, as well as lip blushing and eyeliner. My work focuses on natural, refined results that enhance each client’s features rather than following trends.
I am known for my attention to detail, subtle aesthetic, and for creating a calm, welcoming experience built on trust and connection. Over the years, I’ve performed more than a thousand procedures and have been honored with a 5-star rating and over 100 Google reviews, something I’m incredibly proud of, not just for the results, but for the relationships built along the way.
What truly sets me apart is my ability to combine technical precision with artistic sensitivity and genuine care. Beyond the work itself, this journey has gifted me with incredible clients who became friends, and a purpose that goes far beyond beauty.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I see risk as something that must be carefully managed, especially when it involves people’s safety. In my work, I’ve taken the “risk” of starting over multiple times, moving states and rebuilding my business from scratch, but always thoughtfully and with planning.
Safety is my top priority! I strictly follow all regulations, inform clients of any inherent risks, and provide clear pre and post-care instructions. I’m proud to say that in all these years, I’ve never had a single complication. For me, risk-taking means embracing growth opportunities while balancing bold decisions with responsibility.
