Meet Diana Sumberlin of Cleared to Close with Diana powered by Dynasty Lending Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Sumberlin.

Hi Diana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into mortgage was built on a strong foundation in finance. I spent over 17 years in asset management and financial services, where I had a front-row seat to how wealth is truly built. One pattern was always consistent—the most successful individuals leveraged real estate as a cornerstone of their wealth strategy.

Over time, I felt called to take that knowledge beyond boardrooms and portfolios and bring it to everyday families. I transitioned into mortgage lending to help bridge the gap between financial education and homeownership, especially within communities that have historically lacked access to clear guidance and resources.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—and I think that’s true for anyone building something meaningful. Transitioning from asset management into mortgage lending came with a learning curve, even with a strong finance background. Every market shift, guideline change, and interest-rate cycle forced me to adapt quickly and stay sharp.

One of the biggest challenges has been educating clients in a space where misinformation is everywhere. Many people come in discouraged or misinformed about what’s possible, so part of my role has been unlearning fear, rebuilding confidence, and walking clients through the process step by step.

Another challenge has been earning trust—especially in communities that have historically been underserved or overlooked by the financial system. That takes consistency, transparency, and showing up even when the deal doesn’t close right away.

And like most entrepreneurs, there were seasons of long hours, uncertainty, and moments where growth felt slow. But those challenges shaped how I operate today—with patience, integrity, and a commitment to long-term relationships over quick wins.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Cleared to Close with Diana is more than a mortgage brand — it’s a promise. A promise of clarity, strategy, and follow-through in a process that often feels overwhelming.

At its core, my business exists to help individuals and families move from uncertainty to ownership with confidence. I specialize in guiding clients through both traditional loan programs — FHA, Conventional, VA, and USDA — as well as non-traditional solutions such as bank statement loans and investor programs. Because I operate within a brokerage model, I’m able to offer more flexibility, more options, and more customized strategies than most retail lenders — which means my clients are never boxed into one-size-fits-all solutions.

What truly sets Cleared to Close with Diana apart is the education-first approach. I don’t just process loans — I teach. I make sure my clients understand the why behind the numbers, the strategy behind the structure, and the steps needed not just to close, but to sustain ownership long-term. This is especially important for first-time buyers and clients who’ve been told “no” before.

Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the trust attached to my name. Cleared to Close with Diana has become known for strong communication, honest guidance, and getting clients to the closing table the right way — no surprises, no guesswork, and no shortcuts. I’m equally proud of the partnerships I’ve built with realtors, builders, and community leaders who value reliability and results. I’m Brokered by Dynasty Lending Group working side by side with the most amazing and collaborative team.

What I want readers to know is this: when you work with Cleared to Close with Diana, you’re not just getting a loan officer — you’re getting an advocate, an educator, and a strategic partner who is deeply invested in your outcome. My mission is to help clients build wealth, stability, and legacy through real estate — and to make sure they’re truly cleared, confident, and ready for what comes next.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that may surprise people is that while I’m known for being confident, strategic, and very numbers-driven, my work is deeply rooted in service and purpose. Behind the spreadsheets and loan scenarios is someone who genuinely cares about people’s stories — not just their credit scores. It’s more than work, it’s ministry.
