Today we’d like to introduce you to Ladda Love Hawkins.
Ladda Love, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I would like to explain the evolution of my business from My Own Lane Consultants to Red Ink Safety Co. LLC.
My Own Lane Consultants was established in 2020 as a lead-generation and marketing company focused on small fleet trucking insurance. The company exclusively supplied qualified leads to a family-owned insurance agency, LoveJoy Risk Management Corp. This structure was possible because I am a fully licensed insurance broker.
As I worked more closely with trucking clients, it became clear that many did not understand the regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements of the domestic trucking industry. To close that gap, I educated myself extensively in DOT compliance and safety standards. This transition was a natural extension of my background, as I also hold licenses as a claims adjuster and risk manager.
Although the business experienced rapid growth, the volatility of the small-fleet trucking market proved unsustainable for our closely aligned sister agency. As a result, LoveJoy Risk Management Corp. closed in 2024. I then worked as a sales professional with two mid-sized trucking insurance brokerages, but the client connection and mission alignment were no longer the same.
That experience led to my next pivot. I deepened my expertise in safety compliance and bodily-injury claims handling and decided to operate as a small courier to better understand evidence handling and chain-of-custody requirements firsthand.
This progression resulted in the formation of Red Ink Safety Co. LLC in Nov 2025—a medical and legal courier company built on a strong compliance foundation. Our slogan is “Compliance Is in Our Blood.”
Red Ink Safety is unique in that we operate at the intersection of three regulated services in the state of Texas:
Legal process serving
Insurance services
Medical specimen and document courier operations
Our ideal clients are pre-litigation personal injury attorneys who require secure, expedited delivery of legal documents, subpoenas, medical records, and evidence. Every delivery is handled with strict chain-of-custody controls, and each packet is insured or bonded to provide an added layer of protection and risk mitigation.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Short answer? No. The road hasn’t been smooth—and I wouldn’t trust it if it had been.
The biggest struggle has been volatility. Small trucking is sensitive to fuel prices, insurance cycles, regulation changes, and market swings. One rate filing or enforcement shift can change everything overnight. I learned early that growth without stability is just speed, not progress.
Another challenge was education gaps—not mine, but the industry’s. Too many operators were expected to comply with complex regulations without clear guidance. That forced me to either accept the status quo or step up, self-educate, and become fluent in compliance, safety, and claims so I could actually protect clients, not just sell to them.
There was also the reality of outgrowing partnerships. When a sister agency closed due to market pressure, it wasn’t just a business loss—it was personal. Rebuilding under larger brokerages taught me a hard truth: scale doesn’t automatically mean alignment.
Finally, there was the pivot fatigue. Each transition required humility—starting over, learning new systems, proving credibility again. But every pivot was intentional. Each one moved me closer to control, compliance, and clarity.
So no, the road hasn’t been smooth.
But it’s been directional.
And that’s what keeps me in my own lane.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Red Ink Safety Co LLC?
Red Ink Safety Co. LLC is a compliance-first medical and legal courier company built for environments where mistakes are expensive and documentation matters. We operate where logistics, risk, and law intersect—serving pre-litigation personal injury attorneys, medical providers, and insurance professionals who need evidence moved correctly, not just quickly.
What we do is simple to explain and hard to execute: **secure, documented, chain-of-custody delivery** for legal documents, subpoenas, medical records, imaging, and medical specimens. We specialize in expedited and sensitive deliveries where timing, handling, and accountability are non-negotiable. Every delivery is treated as evidence, not cargo.
What sets us apart is that we’re not “just couriers.”
Red Ink Safety was built by someone who understands **insurance, claims, risk management, and compliance**—because I’ve worked on the back end of what happens when things go wrong. That perspective changes how we operate. We insure or bond deliveries when appropriate, maintain strict documentation standards, and understand how our work shows up later in claims files, courtrooms, and depositions.
We’re also uniquely positioned in Texas as a business that combines **legal process serving, insurance knowledge, and medical courier operations** under one compliance-driven model. That means our clients don’t have to explain why chain of custody matters—we already know.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is restraint and integrity. We don’t overpromise, we don’t cut corners, and we don’t chase volume at the expense of accuracy. Our slogan—**“Compliance Is in Our Blood”**—isn’t marketing language. It’s an operating standard.
What I want readers to know is this:
If you need something moved fast, anyone can do that.
If you need it moved **right**, documented, defensible, and protected—especially before litigation even starts—that’s our lane.
Red Ink Safety exists so our clients can focus on building their case, not fixing preventable mistakes.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
One thing that surprises people is how unconventional my professional path has been.
Before Red Ink Safety and my work in insurance, compliance, and logistics, I was a **licensed bail bondsman in Louisiana** and later a **special education reading teacher in Texas**.
Those two roles shaped everything I do now. Bail bonds taught me how the justice system actually functions under pressure—deadlines, documentation, accountability, and the real consequences when procedures aren’t followed. Special education taught me patience, precision, and how to break complex information into something people can actually understand and use.
Both experiences trained me to operate in high-stakes environments where clarity matters and mistakes ripple outward. Most people see the brand today and assume it was built straight through insurance or logistics. It wasn’t.
It was built at the intersection of law, learning, and lived experience—and that perspective shows up in every system we touch.
