Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Spitzer.
Hi Jessica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Cedar Creek Cleans was built from the ground up — quite literally.
I left an abusive marriage with only a few boxes, no vehicle, and a determination to start over. I moved several states away, knowing no one, but committed to building a safe, stable life through honest work and perseverance.
I began working for a local cleaning company while slowly building my own client list on the side. I showed up early, stayed late, and treated every home like it mattered — because it did. During that time, a business owner I met through church, who owned an Airbnb, believed in me enough to offer a helping hand. She fronted me $4,500 so I could purchase a vehicle, and I worked every dollar of it off. That moment changed everything.
With reliable transportation and growing demand, I was able to step away from my employer and run Cedar Creek Cleans full time. I moved into my first apartment in which my church helped furnish. I slept on an air mattress to begin with and then upgraded to a bed on payments and paid that off. Then was able to buy a couch and table and saw my hard work blessing me. Through consistency, trust, and relentless work ethic, the business grew one property at a time.
Today, Cedar Creek Cleans proudly services 53 short-term rental properties and many residential and commercial properties across East Texas, and our services have expanded into property management and vacation rental support. We are now serving clients in Broken Bow and McCurtain County, Oklahoma bringing the same care, accountability, and high standards that built our reputation from day one.
This business wasn’t built overnight — it was built through grit, integrity, and the belief that hard work still matters. We understand what it means to protect an investment, earn trust, and deliver consistency, because that’s exactly how Cedar Creek Cleans was built. We believe in helping community and every year we offer a free Holiday cleaning to a deserving person that has been nominated and we get to read these amazing and heartfelt stories and bless someone that needs it whether being a single mom, going through chemo, or just working hard and not having enough time in the day. Our true commitment is to our community and making sure they are receiving the best service possible.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting over meant rebuilding everything at once: stability, income, trust, and confidence. In the early days, I was balancing long hours working for another cleaning company while slowly building my own client base. Transportation was a challenge, resources were limited, and every step forward required careful planning and persistence.
There were also moments of uncertainty — learning how to grow responsibly, managing cash flow, hiring the right people, and maintaining high standards while scaling. Building trust with property owners didn’t happen overnight; it came from consistently showing up, communicating clearly, and taking ownership of every job. It took me fighting through trauma to set boundaries and be a boss who is consistent and fair. It has made me to be a compassionate employer that listens to my employees and fights for them and wants a safe place at work.
What made the difference was perseverance and community. Support from people who believed in me, combined with a strong work ethic and a commitment to doing things the right way, allowed me to keep moving forward even when it was difficult. I have been put blood, sweat, tears, and a concussion (making a bunk bed with a dangerous ceiling fan).
Those challenges shaped how Cedar Creek Cleans operates today. We understand the importance of accountability, resilience, and reliability — because the business was built by living those values every single day.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Cedar Creek Cleans is a professional cleaning and property management company(Lake & Pine Property Management) serving short-term rentals, residential, and select commercial properties across East Texas and Broken Bow, Oklahoma. What began as a fresh start has grown into a trusted operation servicing over 50 Airbnb properties, with an expanding footprint in full-service vacation rental support.
We specialize in short-term rental turnover cleaning, property care, and hands-on management. Our work goes beyond cleaning — we focus on consistency, communication, and protecting our clients’ investments. From guest-ready turnovers and detailed inspections to owner support and property oversight, our services are designed to give property owners peace of mind.
What sets Cedar Creek Cleans apart is our attention to detail and accountability. We operate with the understanding that every clean affects guest experience, reviews, and long-term success. Our team follows structured checklists, conducts routine inspections, and communicates proactively with owners and hosts. We don’t cut corners, and we don’t disappear after the job is done.
Brand-wise, we are most proud of the trust we’ve earned. Many of our clients have been with us since the early days, and our growth has come almost entirely through referrals. That speaks to the consistency and care we bring to every property we service.
We also believe in transparency and realistic expectations. Our listings, services, and communication are clear and honest, which helps prevent issues and ensures better experiences for guests and owners alike.
At its core, Cedar Creek Cleans is built on resilience, integrity, and hard work. Our story matters, but what matters more is how we show up every day — reliably, professionally, and with genuine care for the people and properties we serve. That’s what we want readers to know about our brand.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m a country girl at heart. I love fishing, hunting, farming, and baking, and some of my favorite moments are the simplest ones — feeding my chickens, working in my garden, and being outdoors. My long-term goal is to live as self-sufficient.
Those small-town values shape how I run my company. I believe in hard work, responsibility, and taking care of what’s been entrusted to you. Just like tending a garden or caring for animals, building a business requires patience, consistency, and showing up every day — even when it’s not easy.
That mindset carries into Cedar Creek Cleans. We take pride in honest work, treating people fairly, and caring for properties as if they were our own. It’s a hands-on, values-driven approach, and it’s at the heart of everything we do.
