Community Highlights: Meet Amanda Kirkham of The Style House

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Kirkham.

Hi Amanda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The Style House started the same way a lot of good things do – with a dream, a whole lot of hustle, and a belief that women deserve a place that feels fun, personal, and inspiring every time they walk through the door.

We opened with a simple idea: what if getting your hair done, shopping for the cutest outfit, and finding that one accessory that makes you feel confident could all happen in one place? No running all over town. No boring vibes. Just great style, great people, and a space that feels like hanging out with your favorite girls.

From day one, The Style House has been about more than clothes and hair. It’s about community. We built this brand alongside our customers: moms, teens, college girls, and women who love to look put together but still want to have fun with fashion. As our community grew, so did we: expanding into game day fashion, accessories, beauty, skincare, and even creating spaces like Game Day Central so fans can shop their school spirit in a way that actually feels stylish.

Today, The Style House is a boutique + salon, a local hangout, and a go-to destination for women who want to feel confident, current, and celebrated – whether they’re heading to a football game, a girls’ night out, or just living their everyday life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like most small businesses, our story has had plenty of plot twists. We’ve had to learn how to do everything on the fly, from inventory and hiring to marketing, social media, and building a brand that actually stands out in a crowded space. We’ve grown fast, and with growth comes a lot of trial, error, and late-night “how are we going to make this work?” moments.

One of our biggest challenges has been the massive Frisco Rail District redevelopment project. For over 2 years, we’ve dealt with blocked roads, limited parking, heavy equipment outside our doors, constant noise, and the simple reality that people didn’t always know how (or if) they could even get to us. When you’re a small, local business that depends on walk-ins and visibility, that kind of disruption hits hard. You don’t have the luxury of a big corporate safety net to rescue you.

What we do have, though, is grit, creativity, and a team that refuses to quit. Instead of getting discouraged, we turned disruption into determination. We got creative, stayed loud on social, leaned into our community, and kept showing up for our customers – even when the street outside was chaos. We committed more than ever to making The Style House a destination worth finding, no matter how many obstacles and detours were in the way.

So no, it hasn’t been smooth… but the work has been worth it. This season really stretched us, but it has also strengthened us. We’re so proud of how we overcame every setback along the way because now we’re not just beautiful – we’re resilient!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Style House?
The Style House is not your typical boutique – and that’s exactly the point. We’re a boutique + full-service salon in one high-energy, confidence-boosting space in the heart of Frisco’s Rail District. You can get your hair done with one of our talented stylists and then walk a few steps to shop for the outfit and accessories to match. It’s beauty and fashion working together the way it should be.

We’re best known for trend-forward, feminine fashion, statement accessories, and game day outfits that feel fun, flattering, and current – whether you’re headed to a college tailgate, brunch with friends, or a glam night out. Our Game Day Central room has become a destination for girls, moms, and fans who want school spirit that actually feels stylish, not costume-y.

What truly sets us apart, though, is our community. The Style House is built around real women and real life: teens, college girls, moms, and women who want to feel confident, seen, and celebrated. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all fashion. We believe in helping you find the piece that makes you light up when you look in the mirror!

Brand-wise, we’re most proud of the atmosphere we’ve created. Walking into The Style House feels like walking into your favorite group chat – upbeat, supportive, a little sassy, and always welcoming. We’ve grown this brand through relationships, and that shows in everything from how we style our customers to how we show up for our community and local schools.

What we want people to know is simple:
The Style House is where style, beauty, and confidence come together. Whether you’re coming in for a blowout, shopping for game day, or finding something special for everyday life, you’ll leave feeling more like yourself – just a little more polished, a little more playful, and a lot more confident!

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
For us, the best mentors and connections come from showing up: attending local events, supporting other small businesses, and giving back to our local schools, charities, and community. That’s where real relationships are built.

Our biggest advice: Don’t network just to get something. Network to build something. Be curious, be supportive, and be consistent. Cheer for others, promote their wins, collaborate when you can, and the right mentors will naturally find their way into your circle. That’s exactly how we built The Style House community, and it’s been one of the biggest reasons we’ve grown the way we have.
