Inspiring Conversations with Alisha & Juhee of Cheesy Sisters LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha & Juhee.

Alisha & Juhee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The idea really started with a text message. Juhee was at a winery eating a charcuterie board when it hit her, and she texted me and said, “We should start a charcuterie business.” At the time, it sounded fun but not something we seriously thought we’d do.

For a while, we were just the people who always brought charcuterie to parties. We’d bring boards as an appetizer to share, and almost every time someone would say, “You should sell these.” We loved doing it, but we never really took those comments seriously.

Once we decided to go for it, there was a lot more behind the scenes than people realize. We spent months researching how to create our LLC, learning social media from scratch, figuring out our target audience, and sourcing the right packaging, supplies, and ingredients.

We eventually launched our website and social media and officially opened in February 2025. Our very first order was a Super Bowl–themed board, which felt like a full-circle moment. Since then, we’ve grown mainly through word of mouth, local ads, and the incredible support of friends and family. What keeps customers coming back is our focus on fully custom boards and themed charcuterie for holidays and special events. We love creating something that feels personal and memorable every time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most small businesses, there was a lot of learning as we went. One of the biggest challenges was figuring out packaging that looked elevated, kept the food fresh, and still made sense cost-wise. That went hand in hand with pricing. We wanted to be competitive while also making sure the business was sustainable and actually profitable.

Social media was another learning curve. Neither of us came from a social media background, so learning how to create content, stay consistent, and reach the right audience took time and a lot of trial and error.

There were plenty of moments where things felt overwhelming, but each challenge pushed us to grow and improve. Looking back, those struggles really helped shape how we run the business today and made us more confident as owners.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We’re a sister-owned charcuterie business focused on creating boards that feel thoughtful, elevated, and personal. We offer everything from classic boards to fully custom and themed charcuterie for holidays, events, and special occasions. No two boards are ever the same, and that’s really intentional. We love working with customers to bring their ideas to life and make each order feel special.

What sets us apart is our focus on customization and creativity. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all boards. Whether it’s a Super Bowl spread, a holiday gathering, or a milestone celebration, we put a lot of care into the details, from flavor pairings to presentation. Our themed boards have become what we’re most known for, and they’re also our favorite to create.

Charcuterie for us isn’t just food—it’s an art form. We love creating boards that are beautiful enough to be admired before they’re eaten. In fact, multiple customers have told us their boards are so pretty they almost don’t want to touch them!

Brand-wise, we’re most proud of the trust our customers place in us and the fact that so much of our growth has come from word of mouth. Friends, family, and repeat customers have played a huge role in building our brand, and that support means everything to us. At the end of the day, our goal is to create charcuterie that brings people together and makes moments feel a little more memorable.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What we love most about Dallas is the incredible community support for small businesses. People here really celebrate and go all out for holidays, which makes it so fun to create our themed boards.

If we had to pick something we like least, it would probably be the traffic. Getting from one side of the city to the other can take longer than expected, but honestly, the community and energy here make it worth it.
