Meet Joelle Jackson of Tyler, TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joelle Jackson.

Joelle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up always ready to work. I got my first job at 15 years old, and funny enough, it actually cost my parents more to drive me to and from work than I was making an hour—but they were proud that I wanted a job, and I was proud to have one.

At 19, I began my career in banking and finance, where I spent the next 12 years—primarily in Wealth Management and Trust. During that time, I learned something important about myself: while I was good at finance, my true passion was people and problem-solving. I loved being the one clients called when they needed answers, solutions, or simply someone they trusted.

Outside of work, I’ve always had a love for design and the building process. In May of 2024, after more than a decade in finance, I felt called to pursue something that brought all of those passions together—people, problem-solving, and design—and allowed them to shine even brighter.

That clarity came while I was helping a friend with her custom home build, where I discovered Walk Your Plans. I immediately knew this was something East Texas needed.

After nearly a year of navigating lending, securing a location, and bringing a vision to life, I opened Walk Your Plans Tyler on November 10, 2025—and it has been an incredible journey ever since.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The process of opening Walk Your Plans tested me in ways I didn’t expect. It stretched me, challenged me, and pushed me well outside of my comfort zone. There were moments when I questioned myself, moments when doors closed, and moments when the path forward felt unclear. I was forced to grow—in patience, in perseverance, and in trust.

I learned lessons I couldn’t have learned any other way: how to sit in uncertainty, how to keep moving forward when the answer wasn’t yet “yes,” and how to rely on faith instead of control. Each obstacle sharpened my skills, strengthened my resolve, and reminded me that growth rarely happens where we’re comfortable.

And since opening our doors in November, the community has truly shown up. Builders, designers, and drafters have embraced Walk Your Plans, and individual clients continue to walk in and immediately see the value of the experience. Watching people step into their floor plans—having those “aha” moments—has been incredibly rewarding and affirming.

Looking back now, I can see that every delay, every setback, and every challenge served a purpose. The timing wasn’t mine—but it was perfect. The Lord’s timing always is. What felt like waiting was really preparation, and what felt like resistance was redirection. In the end, everything came together exactly when it was supposed to.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Walk Your Plans Tyler, a business that helps people truly understand their spaces before they build. We specialize in projecting floor plans at full scale so clients can physically walk through their homes, offices, or commercial spaces before construction ever begins. This allows builders, designers, and homeowners to catch issues early, make confident decisions, and ultimately save time, money, and stress.

What I’m most known for is being deeply people-focused. Walk Your Plans is a technology-driven service, but at its core, it’s about clarity, communication, and connection. I don’t just run the experience—I guide it. I help clients ask the right questions, see what they couldn’t visualize on paper, and feel confident moving forward. Many people walk in unsure and walk out saying, “I’m so glad we did this.”

What I’m most proud of is bringing something entirely new to East Texas and watching the community embrace it. Since opening, builders, designers, drafters, and individual clients have shown up in a big way, and seeing that immediate value resonate has been incredibly rewarding. I’m proud that Walk Your Plans Tyler has already become a trusted resource in the building community.

What sets me apart is my background and approach. My years in wealth management taught me problem-solving, attention to detail, and how to serve people at a very high level. I pair that with a genuine love for design and the building process, and a commitment to walking alongside clients—not just providing a service, but an experience. People don’t just come to Walk Your Plans for technology; they come for guidance, insight, and someone who truly cares about getting it right.

What’s next?
Looking ahead, my focus is on steady, intentional growth. I have both big and small goals for 2026, ranging from strengthening our social media presence and brand awareness to hitting meaningful sales milestones that support long-term sustainability.

I’m especially looking forward to deepening relationships with local builders, designers, drafters, and industry professionals. My goal is for Walk Your Plans Tyler to become an essential step in their process—not just a helpful add-on, but a trusted tool they rely on to serve their clients well.

We will also continue to evolve our technology and refine the experience we offer. Staying innovative while consistently delivering a high-quality product is a priority. As we grow, maintaining excellence, clarity, and value will always come first.

Ultimately, the future of Walk Your Plans Tyler is about growth with purpose—serving our community better, supporting the building industry, and continuing to provide an experience that helps people make confident decisions before they build.
