Check Out Lady Janice Duterte’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lady Janice Duterte.

Hi Lady Janice, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been a nurse for over 20 years, working in hospitals and acute care settings. Everything changed when I entered home health three years ago. For the first time, I truly saw my patients’ lives—many were vulnerable, living alone, and trying to manage complex health needs without support.
That’s when I realized this was my purpose. I believe God called me to do more than treat illness—to show up for patients where they need help the most, in their own homes. Building this business allows me to serve not just as a nurse, but as a person committed to compassion, dignity, and care.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. In home health, you walk into patients’ lives as a stranger, and trust is not given—it has to be earned. Building rapport, showing confidence, and helping patients feel safe enough to stay engaged in their care takes time. The journey isn’t always easy. You encounter different reactions along the way—some positive, some challenging. What matters most is consistency and persistence. When patients feel that your intentions are genuine and come from the heart, they begin to trust you. That trust is what allows healing, progress, and real change to happen.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in acute care and currently practice in a Neuro and Spine unit while leading a nurse-owned home health organization. My career has allowed me to work across multiple clinical settings, giving me a broad perspective on patient care and healthcare systems. What defines my work is leadership rooted in advocacy. I believe nursing is not just a profession—it is a responsibility to protect vulnerable patients and guide them through complex care. Building and leading my own organization allows me to extend that advocacy beyond the bedside by creating systems of care that improve outcomes, continuity, and dignity for patients at home. What sets me apart is my ability to care for patients across the entire continuum—from hospital to home—while maintaining a clear goal: to protect, empower, and improve the lives of high-risk patients through skilled, compassionate, and consistent care.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Building a business is a calling rooted in purpose and service. When God places a vision in your heart, true leadership means showing up with compassion, integrity, and responsibility for the people you serve. Real success is not measured by growth or profit alone, but by the lives impacted along the way. When service leads and intention guides your work, meaningful and lasting change naturally follows.
