Exploring Life & Business with Adriana Zapata of A Latte Grace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Zapata.

Hi Adriana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
What began as a simple love for coffee slowly became a calling I never expected. While working in the healthcare field, coffee was my daily companion during long days, but it was also something I loved sharing. I would make drinks and bake for coworkers, friends, and family simply as an act of love. I often told my husband that owning a coffee shop was a dream of mine, but at the time it was just a dream, not yet anchored in faith.

In 2023, my walk with God became deeply personal and transformative. During that season of surrender, I felt the Lord clearly call me to build something that reflected Him, to place my gifts in His hands, and to trust Him fully. He asked me to build a business on His foundation and to step away from my job. That call was terrifying. It meant letting go of financial security and stepping into the unknown with nothing but faith. But I knew obedience mattered more than comfort.

At the beginning of 2025, I took a leap of faith and left my full time job to pursue coffee and baking completely, trusting that God would provide where I could not. I started small, baking for local businesses and serving coffee and matcha to friends and family, never chasing growth, only faithfulness. God began opening doors I could have never forced on my own. Through divine connections, I was invited into my first pop ups, and from there, the vision began to unfold.

Today, I am honored to partner with Bible studies, faith based gatherings, fitness events, and community spaces, serving coffee, matcha, and baked goods. This business is more than what I sell. It is an offering. Every cup poured is a reminder that God uses ordinary things when we surrender them to Him. What once felt like an impossible dream has become a testimony of grace, obedience, and the faithfulness of a God who provides every step of the way.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road, and I don’t believe it was meant to be. Learning an entirely new business while building it from the ground up has stretched me in ways I never imagined. As a small business owner, I wear many hats. I am the barista, the baker, the operations team, the social media manager, and the content creator. At times, it can feel overwhelming trying to carry all of those roles at once.

The coffee industry is also very saturated, which can make it challenging to stand out or continually create fresh ideas. There are moments when comparison and doubt try to creep in, especially when growth feels slow or unseen. Being a mobile business adds another layer of difficulty, as constant setup, breakdown, and travel can take a physical toll on the body.

Through every challenge, God has continually reminded me that this journey is about faithfulness, not perfection. The hard moments have taught me to rely on His strength instead of my own, to rest when needed, and to trust that He is the one who sustains both me and the vision. Every obstacle has deepened my faith and confirmed that this business is not built by my hands alone, but by His grace leading the way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is a faith-based coffee and baking brand built on prayer, purpose, and community. Every order I receive is prayed over, with the hope that each person not only enjoys what they’re drinking or eating, but also feels God’s goodness, peace, and presence through it. This business is as much about ministry as it is about coffee.

I am known for my soft, pink, feminine aesthetic and thoughtfully styled setups that feel joyful and welcoming. There is an intentional innocence woven into the brand, meant to remind people of the beauty of childlike faith and the gentle invitation God gives us to come to Him with trust, joy, and open hearts. I want every interaction with my brand to feel uplifting, comforting, and full of grace.

I specialize in handcrafted coffee and matcha, paired with freshly made pastries, all served at pop ups, community gatherings, faith based events, fitness events, and Bible studies. Beyond drinks and baked goods, I also offer curated merchandise that reflects the heart of the brand and allows people to take a piece of that message home with them.

What sets my brand apart is the foundation it is built on. This is not just a coffee business, it is an offering. What I am most proud of is that the brand has stayed rooted in faith, prayer, and authenticity. My hope is that readers know that when they support this business, they are supporting something led by obedience, grace, and a desire to serve others well, one cup at a time.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice to anyone just starting out is not to compare yourself to others. Comparison can steal your joy and distract you from the unique calling God has placed on your life. Everyone’s journey looks different, and growth happens in seasons.

You do not need everything figured out or all the resources to begin. What matters most is having passion, drive, and dedication to your craft, and being willing to learn along the way. I wish I had known sooner that starting small is not a weakness. God can do incredible things with what feels ordinary when it is placed in His hands. Focus on being faithful with what you have, trust the process, and allow God to lead each step.
