Julian Mensah of East Dallas/Casa View on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Julian Mensah shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Julian , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
The time I get to spend with my two young children. I am seeing them grow so fast and I am striving to be better with the limited time I have with them. We have recently taken a liking for learning more about the transformer’s storyline and learning more about the various characters in the story arc.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Julian Mensah and I own and operate Threat Football Club. A semi-professional football team that currently competes in United Premier Soccer League and Metroplex Premier League. We are a nonprofit organization that provides a pathway to professional football both domestically and abroad for rising talent in the metroplex. We want to set ourselves apart as an alternative pathway to reaching one’s footballing goals.

We have been around since 2009 and have aspirations of making our way to USL. We are looking to expand our reach and grow our team in 2026.

In the summer of 2025 we won the inaugural Texas Premiership competition. Was a joyous moment for the club as we have experienced a drought of several years for hardware.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I would say just seeing how much my father sacrificed to get my mother and I over to this country has really shaped my life.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t listen to the naysayers out there. There are a lot of people that will try to throw you off course. You have to stay resilient.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely, I don’t mince my words one bit. I must always be my authentic self in a professional and personal setting.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
When kicking the football around with friends or hanging out with my two children.
