Jasmine Horton shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Honestly I cannot choose. I will say first energy outweighs all. Good energy is just magnificent and receptive and all good will flow from it. 2nd integrity, without integrity your energy isn’t genuine. If you don’t stand for something or have morals you can’t be that intelligent anyway. Intelligence is extremely important, but if you are passionate about something your energy and integrity will lead too to learn and master the intelligence behind it.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Jasmine Horton. I’m from Rockford, Illinois and have been in Dallas, TX for 4 years now. I absolutely love it here. I am founder of Luxe and Co. Skincare. formally known as Kustom Kremes Skincare established in 2014. I am all in when it comes to self care and self confidence. I make amazing high end products at prices that everyone can enjoy. I am Cybersecurity certified, love AI & all things futuristic. I am also am a Texas Notary Public @JasminesNotaries, licensed esthetician @SkynByJasmine, an interior decorator with Jazz Styles Home & I review good and vices in the DFW area @DallasFoodieGirl.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I believed that I was shy and that I wasn’t as attractive as others. If you didn’t know me as a child you’d have no idea I felt that way about myself. The older you get and the choices you make define you. I redefined my thoughts by falling in love with self care and maintaining my internal happiness and my outer appearance. I feel everyone should be happy with how they look but the saying is so true… if you look good you feel good. I pride myself in looking and feeling good day in and day out.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Moving to Dallas with alone with my 4 year old and 1 year old, I experienced many challenges. There were plenty of times I wanted to give up. Facing financial struggles, finding my way over 1,000 miles away from all I knew, was tough. All of that and more only made me feel more empowered than ever. I wouldn’t change this journey for anything. I am so proud of me and my daughters for overcoming what we did and looking forward to what’s to come.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. People meet me and gravitate to me. I genuinely make people feel comfortable. My confidence shines and my attitude is inviting. I showcase all of that in my content and it shows in real life as well.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I tried everything that my heart desires. I lived with all that I had. I cared for my children more than anything in this world.
