Today we’d like to introduce you to Michele Steele.
Hi Michele, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into real estate started long before I ever became a licensed Realtor. At my core, I’ve always loved helping people and being part of meaningful life transitions. Before real estate, I worked in event design and interior styling, including Airbnb and short-term rental design. That experience sparked my passion for creating spaces that feel warm, intentional, and truly “home.”
That love for interiors naturally led me into home staging, where I saw firsthand how powerful design can be not just in making a home beautiful, but in helping people envision their next chapter. Over time, that passion evolved into real estate. I realized I didn’t just enjoy styling homes; I loved guiding people through one of the most pivotal decisions of their lives.
Today, I work as both a Realtor and home stager, with a strong focus on new construction, apartment locating, relocation, and client interior styling. I especially love working with first-time homebuyers and families who are relocating, helping them feel educated, confident, and supported throughout the entire process. Education is a huge part of my business, which is why I host Homebuyer Boot Camps designed to break down the buying process and empower clients to make informed decisions.
I’m very systems-oriented, detail-driven, and deeply relationship-focused. For me, being a part of someone’s next chapter isn’t just business , it’s ministry. I truly believe that home decisions can change the trajectory of a person’s life, and I’m honored to walk alongside my clients as they step into a new season. Whether it’s purchasing a first home, relocating a family, moving into new construction, or turning a house into a cozy, meaningful space, I feel incredibly blessed to do this work.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing in life is completely smooth, and real estate is no exception. While I’m grateful that the majority of my transactions with clients have been very smooth and positive, the beginning of my career definitely came with learning curves.
One of the biggest challenges I faced early on was choosing the right brokerage. That decision is absolutely key to long-term success in real estate. In the beginning, I joined brokerages that, in hindsight, were not the right fit and didn’t provide the level of support, mentorship, training, or guidance I truly needed. That made the start of my career more difficult than it needed to be and was honestly discouraging at times.
Once I found the brokerage I now call home, Real Broker, everything changed. Having the right leadership, systems, and community in place made all the difference, and since then my real estate business has grown smoothly and sustainably.
On the home staging side of my business, I also faced a major challenge with a difficult client experience early on. It was a situation that taught me a hard but valuable lesson: not everyone operates with the same heart, integrity, or intentions. As someone who is naturally giving and service-oriented, I learned the importance of boundaries, clear expectations, and protecting my time and energy as a business owner.
Each of these challenges shaped me in important ways. They taught me discernment, confidence in my decision-making, and the importance of alignment whether that’s with leadership, clients, or business partnerships. Today, those lessons allow me to serve my clients at a much higher level and run my business with clarity, structure, and peace.
For anyone entering real estate or entrepreneurship, my biggest piece of advice is to interview thoroughly, ask hard questions, and remember that the environments you choose can either elevate you or hold you back.
As you know, we’re big fans of Michele is My “Home”Girl TX Realtor & Steele Haus Staging . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is built around helping people navigate major life transitions with clarity, confidence, and care. I operate a full-service real estate business alongside my home staging and interior styling company, Steele Haus Staging, allowing me to support clients from multiple angles throughout their home journey.
On the real estate side, I specialize in residential sales, new construction, relocation, first-time homebuyers, and apartment locating. I work with buyers, helping them find spaces that align with their lifestyle, goals, and season of life. I’m especially known for my education-first approach breaking down the process, setting realistic expectations, and empowering clients to make informed decisions. This is also why I host Homebuyer Boot Camps, where I educate first-time buyers and those new to the process so they feel confident instead of overwhelmed.
Through Steele Haus Staging, I help sellers prepare their homes to stand out in today’s competitive market. From occupied and vacant staging to pre-listing consultations, styling, and design direction, my goal is to help sellers present their homes in a way that feels elevated, intentional, and emotionally compelling. I don’t just focus on aesthetics I focus on helping buyers connect with a space and envision it as home, which ultimately helps homes sell faster and more strategically.
What truly sets my brand apart is the combination of real estate expertise, interior design insight, and a deeply relational approach. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Every client’s story, goals, and circumstances are different, and I tailor my services accordingly.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me and the reputation I’ve built for being both professional and personable. I want readers to know that my brand is about more than buying, selling, or staging homes it’s about helping people step into their next chapter with confidence and intention, whether that’s through a first purchase, a relocation, a lease, or preparing a home to shine on the market.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The real estate landscape is evolving rapidly, and I’m excited about where the industry is headed especially in the areas where my business focuses.
On the real estate side, the next decade will continue to be shaped by shifting demographics, technology, and lifestyle priorities.
We’ll see a stronger focus on education and accessibility
With so many first-time buyers entering the market including younger generations and those relocating from other states there will be an increased emphasis on buyer education. More clients are demanding transparency, guidance, and resources that make the home-buying process less intimidating. Tools like virtual tours, online workshops, and real-time market insights will become even more essential. My Homebuyer Boot Camps and educational approach position me to serve this need effectively.
As remote and hybrid work models remain popular, relocation will continue to drive much of the market activity. People want flexibility, space, lifestyle alignment, and community fit whether they’re moving for family, careers, or quality of life. Helping clients navigate markets they may not know well is becoming increasingly core in Real Estate.
A new generation of buyers and renters are prioritizing flexibility, especially early in their careers or lifestyle transitions. Apartment locating services will remain a critical segment of the housing market, driven by workforce mobility and short-term living preferences. Tech conveniences and personalized service will help differentiate effective locators in this space.
Technology will be a strategic advantage, not a replacement
Tech tools ,AI pricing insights, virtual staging, digital closings, online portals will continue to streamline processes, but clients will still crave human connection, empathy, and expertise. The agents who succeed will be those who balance tech convenience with personal, client-centered service.
On the staging and design side, the market is also transforming.
Staging is no longer just about pretty spaces it’s about performance. Sellers want measurable ROI, and buyers respond to environments where they can emotionally connect. We’ll see more staging choices informed by data: what colors, layouts, and touches influence offers, timelines, and perceived value most effectively.
As remote work and flexible schedules remain long-term, home layouts that adapt to multiple functions work, wellness, living, entertaining will be desirable. Staging professionals will need to showcase how spaces can serve these hybrid lifestyles, not just as pretty rooms but as functional, real-life environments.
Environmental awareness and intentional living will continue influencing buyer preferences. Eco-friendly staging choices, local materials, and sustainable styling cues will become broader expectations rather than niche trends.
Staging and marketing are becoming inseparable. High-quality virtual content, video tours, lifestyle staging, and social media optimization will be expected. As a Realtor and stager, I’m uniquely positioned to drive both the staging strategy and the storytelling that sells homes.
Overall, over the next 5–10 years, success in this industry will belong to professionals who can educate confidently, integrate technology thoughtfully, and deliver highly personalized experiences. Agents and stagers like myself who stay adaptable, data-informed, and deeply client-focused will thrive and that’s exactly where I’m positioning my business and service offerings.
