Life & Work with Iesha K of Dallas Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iesha K.

Hi Iesha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Before “Aashir Kare”, candles were already part of my everyday routine. I lit them while being creative, cleaning, cooking , just moving through daily life. Over time, I started paying attention to how scent/candles affected my mood and energy. Lighting candles set. The mood became my way to slow down, reset, and stay grounded.

I became extremely curious about how Candles are actually made. Because I wanted to make sure the candles that were produced were healthy. I began educating myself, watching YouTube videos, buying supplies and testing candles.

In 2020, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I sold my first candles alongside merch for my music at the time. The response was real and it pushed me to take it seriously. Pop-ups followed. What started as a life style for me grew into a brand built on clean ingredients, intentional scent, and an elevated, modern feel.

In 2021, I moved to Dallas, Texas a major shift that forced me to pause and reset. That season taught me patience, faith, and trusting the process even when things went quiet.

In March 2025, that journey came full circle with the rebrand of ik-Candles into “Aashir Kare” a modern luxury self-care brand built on wellness, non-toxic living, and community. Each candle is made with a premium soy–coconut wax blend and clean ingredients, designed for people who care about what they breathe in and how their space feels.
Aashir Kare is about creating calm in real life in the midst of life’s chaos.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been an easy road, but it’s been a journey of learning. Building “Aashir Kare” meant learning the business side while protecting my creativity and staying true to who I am As an individual and as a business Woman. I’ve had to figure out funding, search for quality materials, and learn how to grow without rushing the process.

There’s been a bunch of trial and error especially in the beginning and I’m still learning because I truly believe there is always room for improvement. But those challenges sharpened my discipline and forced me to move with intention. Everything has shaped the brand into what it is today.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about Dallas is the energy. It’s a city that truly supports growth, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
There’s room to build and create something meaningful. The community is diverse, and constantly evolving.

What I like least is that it can sometimes feel disconnected, which is why I’ve learned to be intentional about creating community and meaningful connections, that pressure has also taught me how to stay grounded while building.
