My path to entrepreneurship wasn’t something I planned from the start—it grew out of life experience, hard work, and a desire to create something better and to give back. After years of working behind the scenes, I reached a point where I wanted more than just a job; I wanted to build something meaningful, something that reflected my values and created opportunities not only for myself, but for others as well. Over the past 20 years in residential and commercial cleaning, I learned that doing the job well definitely matters—but being genuine, dependable, and trustworthy matters even more.
As a co-owner of UCare We Clean LLC, which I established with my brother-in-law, Dave Jackson, I learned that I could turn what I genuinely love—cleaning—into meaningful and fulfilling work. That experience allowed me to serve seniors in their living communities and care for children by maintaining clean, safe daycare environments, where trust, attention to detail, and accountability truly matter. I’ve been involved in cleaning restaurants, where cleanliness is necessary to protect public health and maintain a safe environment for both customers and staff. It helped me understand that cleaning isn’t just about appearance—it’s about caring for people, respecting their space, and helping them feel at ease.
Through that journey, I began to realize that I was capable of building something of my own—something grounded in integrity, consistency, and respect for both clients and workers. Santi-Clean of Euless was born during a season of transition in my life, when I was seeking stability but also felt a strong desire to prove to myself that I could stand on my own. Starting the business required stepping into uncertainty, embracing risk, and believing in myself even when there was no clear roadmap—but it was in that space that my confidence and purpose truly began to grow.
Many people are surprised when I tell them I’m naturally shy, but cleaning became my way of expressing genuinely how much I care. Through my work, I found a way to give of myself more openly, and over time it became something I truly love and hold dear—one of the core values that guides both my life and my business. In the beginning, I did everything myself—cleaning, scheduling, answering phones, and managing the business side late at night. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey to building Santi-Clean of Euless has definitely not been smooth. Early on, I faced the loss of my full-time job multiple times, which created significant financial challenges and personal hardships. On top of that, many of the common struggles that new business owners face—like securing clients, managing cash flow, handling unexpected expenses, and navigating legal and administrative requirements—all seemed to happen at once. It felt overwhelming trying to keep everything moving forward while learning as I went through my journey. There were countless sleepless nights filled with doubt, wondering if I had made the right decisions. Through it all, my faith was a vital source of strength; earnest prayers helped me find clarity and guidance for each next step. Balancing the pressures of entrepreneurship with nurturing my spiritual life was challenging, but that balance gave me the resilience to keep pushing toward success.
Despite the many challenges and moments of doubt, I made a conscious decision not to give in to fear or uncertainty. Staying focused on the deeper purpose behind Santi-Clean of Euless—the desire to give back and help others both in my personal life and through my business—kept me motivated. I also continue to prioritize flexibility in my personal life, allowing myself to be self-sacrificing when needed, while balancing that with giving my best in my business. Managing both areas thoughtfully has been essential to sustaining momentum and achieving success. That sense of purpose has been a constant reminder that the struggles are part of a larger journey, one worth every effort.
