Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige “Trenvy” Campbell.
Hi Paige, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After getting married, I moved from Houston to Dallas, unsure of what my next chapter would look like. During that season of transition, I had a vivid dream of myself working in a busy nail salon. When I woke up, I told my husband, “I think I want to do nails,” and without hesitation, he took me to buy supplies so I could start practicing.
At first, nothing made sense. I struggled for months and almost gave up. But one day, I decided to try one last time—and it finally clicked. After six months of teaching myself and sharpening my skills, I enrolled at Trale Beauty Academy, earned my license, and stepped out on faith.
I started in a salon suite with zero clients, forced into a fight-or-starve mindset that pushed me to grow beyond fear. Today, I’ve built a clientele of over 500 and am the founder of Tru Studios in Richardson, where I provide a luxury, upscale space and help other beauty professionals grow their businesses too.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Fear and anxiety were once my biggest obstacles. Not seeing a full week of clients triggered constant worry—questioning whether I would make suite rent, afford marketing, or keep up with new trends and supplies needed to stay competitive. That pressure forced me to face my fears head-on, pushing me to work harder, stay consistent, and bet on myself even when the outcome wasn’t guaranteed.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am one of the founders of Tru Studios, an upscale lifestyle, full-service salon located in Richardson, Texas. Tru Studios is a creative hub offering everything from nails, lashes, hair, and esthetic services to photography, tattoos, and other beauty- and art-driven services. Alongside running the studio, I also operate my own nail brand, Trenvy Nails, within the space.
What truly sets me apart is the culture I’ve created. At Tru Studios, clients and tenants don’t just feel welcomed—they feel at home. We don’t move like a traditional salon where there’s a clear “owner” and everyone else follows. Instead, we move like family. I’m not viewed as the boss, but as a shop sister. We call each other shop sisters because we support one another, learn from each other, and grow together. Everyone has everyone’s back, and that sense of community is the heart of Tru Studios.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Faith should always come before fear. Fear has a way of quietly killing dreams before they ever have the chance to live, especially when you’re standing at the edge of something new. But when you choose to follow God and remain obedient to His direction, fear loses its power.
If God has placed you in a certain position, that alone is confirmation that you are equipped to handle it. Starting something new—especially a business—can feel overwhelming, but God never calls you into anything He hasn’t already prepared you for. He doesn’t open doors without paving the way, and every challenge is part of the growth. Trusting Him fully allows you to move forward with confidence, knowing you are walking in purpose, not panic.
