Hidden Gems: Meet Franchesca Gipson of Pappistach, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Franchesca Gipson.

Hi Franchesca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve personally experienced sensitive skin my entire life. Like many people, I followed the traditional route—dermatologist visits, prescription topical creams, and medicated treatments. Unfortunately, the burning and discomfort from those products often felt worse than the itching itself. Because of that, I naturally gravitated toward gentler, more natural alternatives and began paying close attention to what I put on my skin.

Pappistach was founded in the fall of 2019. The early years were filled with trial and error, learning curves, and the unexpected hardships of navigating a small business through COVID. Those challenges shaped the brand and strengthened my commitment to creating products that are intentional, simple, and skin-safe.

Everything truly came full circle when I became a mother in 2023. When my son began experiencing the same skin sensitivities and flare-ups I had grown up with, Pappistach took on a deeper purpose. What started as a personal journey became a labor of love rooted in motherhood and protection.

In 2025, we launched our Oatmeal Collection and expanded into e-commerce, TikTok Shop, and increased vending opportunities. Now in 2026, Pappistach products are carried in retail stores across Dallas and Oklahoma—and we’re still growing, guided by experience, care, and the belief that sensitive skin deserves better.

Now my brand has transitioned from being just a e-commerce online store brand to being available inside stores such as ..
Pan African connection – DTX
Treu Beauty Supply Boutique- OKC
Mama Zs African supermarket- OKC
Wall to wall beauty supply – TX
Etc… I am truly blessed to be able to expand my business and look forward to seeing where we will be in the coming months.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. As a Black woman–owned brand, the challenges begin before the product ever reaches the customer. Access, visibility, and being taken seriously were ongoing hurdles from the start.

COVID became a major turning point. During the lockdown, people were afraid, money was tight, and trust was hard to build—especially for a growing skincare brand. At the same time, I was learning firsthand how much funding, consistency, and resilience it truly takes to run and sustain a business. Building brand credibility while resources were limited forced me to move strategically and intentionally.

Another challenge was product alignment—finding not just what people wanted, but what truly represented the heart of Pappistach. That clarity didn’t fully come until I became a mother. When my son was born and experienced similar skin sensitivities, my purpose deepened. I made the difficult but necessary decision to shift my original skincare collection entirely. That pivot transformed the brand from a general skincare line into one rooted in sensitivity, care, and protection.

Those struggles shaped Pappistach into what it is today—more focused, more meaningful, and built with intention rather than ease.

We’ve been impressed with Pappistach, LLC , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
