Check Out Lisette Diaz’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisette Diaz.

Hi Lisette, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been into watching behind-the-scenes of television & film and into cartoons & Anime. After accidentally getting cast in my 1st play junior year of high school, I changed career paths from veterinary science to Theatre.
After my 4 years at UNT I went on to the the Disney College Program in Florida and worked my way through the gamut of theme parks: Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios Orlando, Disneyland California, SeaWorld San Antonio, Six Flags Over Texas- working and training and networking all along the way.
In 2020 I booked my 1st and only on-screen commercial right before COVID closures. Eventually, I moved back to the Dallas area and started networking, working, & taking classes again to better my craft.
Within a month of having my 1st session at Crunchyroll I booked the lead of “The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!” aaaand the rest is history. 🖤🖤 Best known as the voice of Jahy-sama, Mini Yaemori in “Rent-A-Girlfriend,” Young Rin Itoshi in “Blue Lock,” O-Some in “One Piece,” and so many more… I’m so grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve managed to book and for all the Casting Directors that’ve taken a chance on me. I’m excited to get back to my roots and expanding into other parts of the industry. I’m still at the start of my career and I can’t wait to see where this long journey takes me!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I consider myself a good ol’ traditional “struggling artist”! From struggling with finances, jumping into the deep end and having to learn to swim quickly in order to maintain my work, dealing with self-doubt & imposter syndrome, and especially having to start from the bottom when everything in the world stopped…

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Best known for my work in Anime as a Voice Actor. Background in Theme Parks, Production, Attractions Operations, and Character Work.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My family is a huge support in my career. My mother is always there to help me when I’m in a jam, whether it’s sending me grocery money or driving up to help me move- they all contributed to help me purchase the home booth in order for me to elevate my career in the coming year.
As already mentioned, I am so grateful to every Director that’s taken a chance on me; relied on me to help bring their stories to life.
My friends and the community I’ve managed to create. Especially as an introverted house cat that hates leaving the house. lol And of course, the fans that continue to support the work I so very much love to do!
