Exploring Life & Business with Jennifer Jones of The MamaCoach—Jenn Jones, PLLC.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Jones.

Hi Jennifer, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I founded MamaCoach – Jenn Jones, PLLC after realizing that even highly educated, capable parents often feel completely alone during some of the most important seasons of their lives.

I’m a nurse with more than 18 years of experience, but my story started long before my career. I was born prematurely at around 32 weeks gestation, and growing up, I heard how overwhelming that experience was for my parents—how uncertain they felt and how few trusted resources they had at the time. That early experience stayed with me and ultimately shaped my calling to nursing.

Years later, I became a first-time mom at 36. Despite my education, certifications, and background in newborn and postpartum care, I still found myself second-guessing decisions—especially as my daughter grew and new challenges emerged. What surprised me most was how the support seemed to disappear the farther we got from the hospital. I realized that if I was feeling this way, so were countless other parents. That’s when I decided to step into nurse entrepreneurship and create MamaCoach—a practice built around personalized, evidence-informed coaching and real relationships. My mission is simple: no family should feel like they have to figure it all out alone. Today, I support families from preconception through newborn care, toddler transitions, and even into midlife women’s health. I get to walk alongside them through milestones, challenges, and growth—and that’s incredibly meaningful work.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like most entrepreneurial journeys, it hasn’t been linear—but it has been purposeful.

Building MamaCoach has required patience, resilience, and a lot of trust in the process. I often describe the business as a seedling—something I continue to nurture and grow as both my life and my clients’ needs evolve. Entrepreneurship isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up consistently and staying aligned with your why. One of the biggest challenges has been balancing growth with motherhood. I want to reach and support as many families as possible, while also being fully present for my own. That tension is real, especially for women building businesses while raising families.

Another challenge has been visibility. If people don’t know you exist, they may continue struggling in silence. I think often about my own experience as a working mom returning to work—I didn’t even know support like this existed. Now, I get to be that resource for others, and that makes every challenge worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
MamaCoach – Jenn Jones, PLLC is a nurse-led private practice and part of a national network of nurse entrepreneurs who are redefining how families access support and wellness care. What sets MamaCoach apart is the relationship-based model. I don’t just give advice—I build long-term partnerships with families. As a nurse, I’m trained to assess, educate, and create individualized care plans, which allows me to complement traditional medical care in a way that feels personal, accessible, and judgment-free. I listen first, identify each family’s goals, and then coach them through practical, evidence-informed steps to get there.
Families often return at different life stages, which is incredibly special. In a world of quick appointments, continuity of care is rare—and deeply needed. What I’m most proud of is being a trusted resource families come back to again and again as their needs change.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My advice is to start by genuinely showing up.Some of the best mentors and connections form organically when you’re involved in your community and aligned with your values.Relationships grow when there’s shared purpose, not forced networking. Dallas has an incredible entrepreneurial ecosystem—events, organizations, and resources that are worth leaning into. At the same time, I encourage people to do their research and seek out partnerships with businesses and leaders who truly align with their mission.Collaboration—not competition—is what builds sustainable impact. When we support one another, everyone wins—especially the families and communities we serve.
