Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I founded Smilecloud Family Dental in 2024, the vision was simple: build a modern, patient-centric practice from the ground up. However, the process of assembling a founding team revealed a significant opportunity within the dental industry.
After hiring two ambitious, recent graduates of dental assisting programs, I noticed that while they possessed the foundational knowledge, there was a disconnect between classroom theory and the fast-paced reality of a high-tech clinical environment.
Driven by a passion for mentorship, I spent months personally training the team, refining their technical proficiency, and sharpening their chairside manner. This hands-on transformation sparked a realization: The industry didn’t just need more assistants; it needed more “work-ready” assistants.
This vision led to a year-long journey of rigorous accreditation and curriculum development with the Texas Workforce Commission, culminating in the launch of Brilliant Dental Assisting School.

Training in a live, functioning dental office rather than a simulated lab. Direct exposure to the latest digital workflows and diagnostic tools and a curriculum designed by a hiring dentist to address the specific skills most sought after in today’s job market.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was long journey to get the approvals from Texas Workforce Commission and setting up the infrastructure of the school. However taking one step at a time and keeping the bigger picture in perspective helped a lot in crossing the hurdles.
We’ve been impressed with Brilliant Dental Assisting School, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We offer a 12 week Dental Assisting program where anyone with a high school diploma can get trained with no prior dental experience and become a registered dental assistant. The course is offered at a very affordable tuition along with payment plan options. Our course is designed to be in person and has a more practical approach of being geared towards using modern digital dental equipment. We assist our students to find externship opportunities and get real world working experience.
