Meet Jennifer of Nuvo Integrative Psychiatry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer.

Hi Jennifer, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Nuvo Integrative Psychiatry was created from a deeply personal turning point in my career. After years of practicing as a psychiatric nurse practitioner within the traditional medicine model, I began to feel that something was missing. Too often, medications were presented as the primary or only solution, and many patients were left without a deeper exploration of why they were struggling in the first place. I knew there had to be a better way to care for people.

What started as a vision for more thoughtful root-cause focused care had grown into a thriving practice centered on collaboration, curiosity, and whole-person healing. From the beginning, the goal was simple: create a space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Stepping away from the security of a conventional model required faith and resilience. There were obstacles in navigating insurance limitations, educating patients about a different approach to care, and building trust in a model that values depth over speed. Growth required patience, consistency, and a willingness to stay grounded in the mission even when the path felt uncertain.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
This practice was built for individuals who want more than a quick visit and a prescription. It is for those who value a personable provider who will truly listen, educate, and partner with them to promote optimal wellness. My role is to walk alongside you and develop a plan that feels aligned, comprehensive, and sustainable.

Mental health is rarely one dimensional. Hormones, nutrient deficiencies, stress, metabolic health, and life transitions can all play a role in how we feel. At Nuvo, we take time to explore those root contributors, including the option of functional lab testing when appropriate. Medication can be helpful and important, but it is one part of a much broader, more thoughtful approach to healing.

Nuvo provides both general and reproductive psychiatry services, supporting individuals navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, career burnout, binge eating, perimenopause, PMDD, and other mood-related concerns.

We offer in-person appointments in Dallas, along with virtual visits across Texas and Colorado, allowing us to bring warm, collaborative care to patients wherever they are.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The community. I’ve met many genuine, like-minded individuals.

The traffic heading north of Dallas is very annoying but if you live in the city it’s not too bad.
