Meet Nancy Messiha of Luxe Living Realty and Fancy Designs in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to “Fancy Nancy” also known as Nancy Messiha!

LUXE Living came from Nancy’s passion for lifestyle and design which ultimately led her to luxury real estate. Originally from California, she has spent the last 15 years molding her career as a Texan. Nancy graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of North Texas and began her career as an assistant to a prominent home builder. Nancy eagerly absorbed the culture of the industry and ascended to neighborhood sales manager quickly. A proven performer, Nancy was recognized for her excellence in sales and service – leading her to earn a McSam Award from the Dallas Builders Association in 2007. All of her tenacity has led her in becoming a Real Estate Broker.

Inspired by her success in helping families fulfill their dreams, Nancy desired to increase her knowledge base and her abilities to serve more families in her area. Along with Real Estate, Nancy is also an interior decorator at Fancy Designs. Her interior decorating talent provides for wondrous staging for clients who want to sell. “Inspired through interior design, fashion, art, and people, I have learned that the best description of my job is basically to “make everything pretty”. With 15 years of experience her passion thrives on transforming any blank canvas!

Nancy currently focuses on luxury residential sales, having earned her Accredited Luxury Homes Specialist certification, complementing her Brokers license. At this time, there are only 4,100 active Realtors nationwide who hold this prestigious accreditation. Learning from her extensive experiences in both interior decorating and the real estate industry she intertwines her unique insights to achieve maximum home value. She finds enthusiasm in leading her clients through a successful journey of either selling their current home or by aiding them in finding and purchasing their dream home. In order to provide the best service possible, she makes sure she is continuously expanding her real estate education and knowledge by staying on top of the latest market trends and attending several real estate classes a year.

“I pride myself in building lasting relationships with my clients.”

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Real Estate has several struggles with the one at top of the list of constantly having to promote yourself. It has not been easy, but I welcome and do my best to overcome all challenges. With the lack of people’s knowledge of the industry, whether selling or buying, you are thrown into the roller coaster life style that real estate provides in general. To be completely transparent, I would say the industry as a whole lacks a lot of respect. Clients are often not loyal and as an agent you end up doing a lot of work without pay. Many times, clients have no problem asking you for a portion of your earned commission. With the endless list of realtors in any metroplex you become easily replaceable.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Luxe Living Realty and Fancy Designs story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a real estate broker with the bonus partnership of being an interior decorator as well. That alone sets me apart from the run of the mill realtor. I have an eye to find those little diamonds that need to be cleaned up and I am able to speak to key trends, future market callouts/finishes as well as give an overall visual presentation so buyers are able to have the confidence to make the right choices. Furthermore, with my interior design experience of 15+ years, I work with clientele in the buying/selling side of luxury properties and I am able to execute above and beyond their expectations. You can’t be known as FANCY NANCY with the tag line “live…just fancier” and not have the credentials, experience and flare to back that up!

I think the most important attribute of my personality is that I am 100% a people person who strives on building relationships. I keep up with my clients, become friends, get invited to their weddings and baby showers etc. You can say that I am a relational broker, not a transactional one.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m not sure I believe in luck. I believe in God and that everything happens for a reason. I was given my name Fancy many years ago, by my late boyfriend who passed away in a motorcycle accident. He would always push me to start my own business and work for myself. My business name came from his nickname for me. He inspired me to start my interior design business called Fancy Designs. From there, failing was not an option because his spirit guided me through. I then tied real estate and design together…wal-ah you have Luxe Living Realty and Fancy Designs.
