Today we’d like to introduce you to LaDawn Rhodes.
Hi LaDawn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember. I always enjoyed taking photos with friends, and my bedroom walls were covered in photos. At some point after college, I was given my father’s camera and used it to start photographing my puppy, and that’s when I realized this was more than just a hobby. At some point, I thought, ‘what if I started photographing people the same way?’ From there, LD Photography was born.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Along the way there has been some challenges, the biggest being my schedule. When I started photography, I was working full time, planning a wedding, and shooting all at once. It was a lot. My free time was extremely minimal and sleep was put on the back burner, but I knew those were sacrifices I had to make in order to get to be as successful as I am today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a lifestyle photographer, and I primarily photograph high school seniors, and couples. However, I do take portraits for families, expecting moms, newborns, and photograph events and small weddings as well! I would say I am most proud of how full my books get each season, I will think things will slow down, but they never do, and that is a huge blessing! I do think my business model is what keeps me booked and busy as it does set me apart. I try to keep my prices affordable and return good amounts of photos to my clients, making sure they are getting their money’s worth.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Truly, nothing makes me happier than my family. On some of my most difficult days, they make them so much brighter. I have a son, Luke, born in October 2025, and becoming a mom has been life changing and is truly the greatest thing that has ever happened. My husband, Tanner, is truly my rock and has weathered all the storms with me and does life with me so well, I couldn’t have asked the Lord for a better partner. I can’t imagine living without them.
