Hidden Gems: Meet Lauren Munson of Arch + Skin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Munson.

Hi Lauren, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started in the beauty industry in 2015 as a lash artist. Lashes were my entry point, but over time I realized my real passion was brows. I was drawn to the precision, the structure, and the impact of corrective work, and I slowly shifted my focus in that direction. I became fully self-employed in 2017 and spent several years building my business client by client while refining my technique and developing a more results-driven approach to both brows and skin. Like a lot of entrepreneurs, my path wasn’t linear. I went through some major personal and professional setbacks along the way, including a period where I stepped away and ultimately had to shut my business down. In 2022, I got sober again and made the decision to rebuild everything from the ground up. This time, I approached my work with more structure, stronger boundaries, and a much clearer vision for the kind of business and life I wanted to create. That rebuild led to the launch of Arch + Skin in Dallas. Today, my work focuses on corrective brows, skin health, and education through The Arch Method. Arch + Skin represents the result of rebuilding more than once and choosing to come back with higher standards, a stronger foundation, and a long-term vision.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most entrepreneurs, I’ve had to rebuild more than once.
There have been personal challenges along the way, including my recovery journey, that forced me to step back, reset, and make some hard decisions about my life and my business. In 2022, I chose to get sober again and ultimately shut my business down so I could rebuild from a stronger foundation. Professionally, I’ve also experienced difficult work environments, power imbalances, and the reality that not every opportunity or partnership is aligned long-term. Learning how to trust my instincts, set boundaries, and walk away when something wasn’t right was a big part of my growth. There were moments of starting over financially, rebuilding my client base, and figuring things out without a safety net. That part isn’t glamorous, but it’s where the real foundation was built. Those challenges shaped how I run Arch + Skin today. The structure, the standards, the boundaries, and the long-term vision all come from having to rebuild more than once. Looking back, the setbacks weren’t detours. They were the training.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Arch + Skin?
Arch + Skin is a Dallas-based studio specializing in corrective brows and results-driven skin treatments. The focus is on long-term outcomes, not quick fixes. Most of my clients come to me after overprocessing, over-tweezing, barrier damage, or years of chasing trends that didn’t work for their skin or their features. Being the first to offer brow lamination in Dallas (2019), brows are a core specialty, especially regrowth, reshaping, and structural correction. My approach is very disciplined and editorial. Instead of forcing a trend or a one-size-fits-all look, I work with each client’s natural growth pattern, bone structure, and long-term goals. A lot of my work is about restoring what’s been compromised and building back integrity over time.
On the skin side, my treatments focus on barrier repair, texture, and overall skin function. I’m known for taking a corrective, long-view approach rather than aggressive treatment plans that create cycles of irritation and dependency.
What sets Arch + Skin apart is the standard behind the work. I’m not a high-volume, trend-driven studio, and I don’t offer everything. The business is intentionally built around doing fewer services at a higher level, with a strong emphasis on chemistry, skin health, and technical decision-making. I’m also the creator of The Arch Method, an advanced brow education program that teaches artists how to work with more structure, intention, and technical understanding. Education is a big part of the brand because raising the industry standard matters to me just as much as the client work. Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is that Arch + Skin isn’t built on hype. It’s built on trust, consistency, and results that hold up over time. Clients come to me because they want someone who will be honest, thoughtful, and conservative in their approach, even when that means a slower process. If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s that Arch + Skin is for people who care more about long-term integrity than quick transformation. The goal is healthy skin, strong brows, and work that still looks good months and years later.
