Conversations with Lidia Dalida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lidia Dalida.

Hi Lidia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I love dancing and have been dancing all my life. I danced from the age of 6 and now several decades later here I am still doing what I love and I am surrounded by people who share same values and passion for dance.
I am owner of Dalida Bellydance School in Plano, TX. We hold classes in-person and online. We also have recorded classes library so more people can dance at the time of their convenience. We regularly perform at various DFW events and festivals.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When you do something you love the struggles you face don’t seem too bad. But art has to have resources to survive. The recent biggest challenge we had was a pandemic but it turned our school into online education. Until now I give online classes and it positively affected our school.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I teach dance classes – belly dance, ballet, flamenco, modern, wedding dance. I am known for belly dance performances and classes in DFW. I am proud that I have built great community around me and we all support each other and grow together.
I am professional dancer and love to share my passion with others. I am authentic and I think it is something what sets me apart from others.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I always watch what is new in the world of dance. YouTure, Facebook or Instagram of my colleagues it something I check regularly.
