Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbara Zinda.
Hi Barbara, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into coaching didn’t start as a business idea. It started as a season of deep personal transition.
For many years, I built a successful career in banking and financial services. I was driven, working hard, and doing what many people do, chasing revenue goals and professional success. But life has a way of asking deeper questions when you least expect it.
Within a short period of time, my father passed away, my son got married, and I found myself giving my dad’s eulogy while reflecting on the last conversation we had together. We had talked about identity. About whether continuing my education and pursuing a bigger vision for my life really mattered, or if the career I had built was enough. That conversation stayed with me.
Losing him, combined with the transition of my son starting his own family, created a moment where everything shifted. I went from being a daughter and a mom to asking myself a new question: Who am I becoming in this next chapter of life?
That season led me back to school, deeper into my faith, and into studying personal growth, resilience, and human potential. What I discovered was that so many high-achieving professionals are incredibly good at generating revenue and results, but often struggle with resilience, meaningful relationships, and a clear sense of purpose.
Out of that realization, Better Together Life Coaching was born.
Today, I work with entrepreneurs, professionals, and leaders who want to succeed without losing themselves in the process. My coaching integrates practical business wisdom, science-backed tools like heart coherence training, and faith-based principles to help people align their revenue, relationships, and resilience.
What started as my own journey of rediscovering identity and purpose has grown into a mission: helping others move from striving and burnout to clarity, connection, and intentional living.
Because in the end, we really are better together.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Building a business while continuing to grow personally and academically has required a lot of grit.
One of the biggest challenges has been balancing multiple roles at once. Being present for my family, going back to school, and building a coaching practice at the same time. When people see the finished version of something, they often don’t realize how much quiet work happens behind the scenes.
I remember one moment very clearly last summer on the Fourth of July. I was visiting friends and everyone was outside enjoying the pool, laughing and splashing around. I could hear all of it through the window. Meanwhile, I was upstairs working through my math homework for school. Part of me wanted to close the laptop and go jump in the pool, but another part of me knew I had made a commitment to keep growing and building the future I envisioned. So I stayed upstairs and finished the assignment.
That moment really captures what this season of life has been like, choosing long-term purpose over short-term comfort.
There have been plenty of moments of uncertainty along the way as well. Transitioning from a structured corporate career into entrepreneurship means learning to build systems, create momentum, and stay motivated even when things are still taking shape.
But those challenges have also shaped me in the best ways. They’ve strengthened my resilience, deepened my faith, and given me a real understanding of what it takes to reinvent yourself in a new season of life. It’s the same journey many of my clients are on, and I believe walking through it myself has made me a much better coach.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the heart of my work, I help people rediscover who they are and move forward with clarity and purpose. Through Better Together Life Coaching, I work primarily with entrepreneurs, professionals, and leaders who are successful on the outside but often feel stretched thin, disconnected, or uncertain about what the next chapter of life should look like.
What makes my work unique is that I don’t just coach through conversation. I design tools and experiences that help people create real change in their daily lives. I’ve developed frameworks, planners, and guided exercises that help people strengthen resilience, clarify their goals, and build meaningful relationships while still pursuing their professional ambitions.
Much of my work blends practical business insight, science-based techniques for emotional regulation and focus, and faith-centered principles about identity and purpose. I often incorporate heart coherence practices that allow clients to see in real time how their mindset and emotions affect their physiology. When people experience that shift for themselves, it becomes much easier for them to build lasting habits and resilience.
Creativity plays a big role in what I do. I’ve loved designing my 90-day planner, building my website, creating coaching worksheets, and writing my upcoming book, The Better Together Reset. Each of these tools is meant to help people pause, reflect, and intentionally design the life they want to live rather than simply reacting to the pressures around them.
What I’m most proud of is watching people reconnect with their sense of identity and possibility. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck or overwhelmed, and over time they begin to see themselves differently. They start making decisions from a place of clarity instead of stress, and they begin building lives that feel aligned with their values.
If there’s one thing that sets my work apart, it’s the belief that transformation happens best in community. We’re often taught to push through challenges alone, but I believe people grow stronger when they feel seen, supported, and connected. That’s the heart behind the name Better Together.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing people reconnect with their sense of purpose and possibility. There’s something incredibly meaningful about watching someone move from feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain into a place of clarity and confidence about who they are and where they’re going.
I also find a lot of joy in creating! Whether that’s designing a planner, writing ideas for my book, or building tools that help people grow in their daily lives. I’ve always loved taking an idea that could help someone and turning it into something tangible that others can use.
Outside of work, some of my happiest moments are actually very simple. Spending time with family, being outdoors, walking my dog, or having meaningful conversations with people I care about brings me a lot of peace. Those moments remind me that life isn’t just about achievement, it’s about connection.
For me, happiness comes from living in alignment with what matters most. Faith, relationships, growth, and helping others discover that the next chapter of their life can be even more meaningful than the last.
If I can help someone walk away from a conversation believing more deeply in who they are and what’s possible for their life, that’s a very good day for me.
