Today we’d like to introduce you to Dianna Hodza.
Hi Dianna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After completing 6 years of rigorous architecture schooling and receiving my bachelor and masters degrees. It allowed me to understand and grow an eye for aesthetics not only in buildings human eye and scale.
I began in the corporate world as many people do thinking they want to climb the ladder and while part of me still think about that so often. Having a creative pursuit to truly be yourself is really what got me here.
Friends and families around me encourage and pushed me to purse more of the creative side as the architectural field is corporate and loss of individual creativity, while this pursuit of mine allows me to explore both and have a balance. Especially my close friend Jennifer Aguirre who photographed my dream engagement photos in Cologne, Germany.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life is all about struggle and the chase and that is what makes you stand out. There are no smooth roads just truthful love, passion, and staying up late to reach your goals.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What sets me apart from others is that I am chasing that slow burn of real film in a world that moves way too fast. I shoot solely on Fuji film for those rich, impossible colors that hit different—velvety greens, electric blues, and skin tones that feel alive—and Super 8 for the dreamy, flickering motion that turns everyday moments into something cinematic and nostalgic. From Dallas golden hours to late-night vibes, I’m out here capturing the raw, unfiltered beauty of life one imperfect frame at a time.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Networking and events is the best way to meet people, quite literally going up and talking to people / reaching out online is truly the best way to get recognition.
