Community Highlights: Meet Yvonne Saldivar of Blissful & Blessed Unions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvonne Saldivar.

Yvonne Saldivar

Hi Yvonne, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Honestly, this didn’t start as some perfectly mapped-out plan—it started as a pull I couldn’t ignore.

I spent over a decade in accounting, and while I was good at it, it never fulfilled me. I’m someone who thrives on connection, emotion, and meaning—and Federal and Multi-State taxes just weren’t giving me that. For a long time, I kept that part of myself on the back burner.

Everything really shifted after I lost my older sister in 2023. That kind of loss changes your perspective completely. It made me realize how short life is and how important it is to do something that actually matters to you—something that feels aligned with who you are at your core.

So I took a leap.

What started as officiating a few ceremonies quickly turned into something much bigger. I realized I didn’t just want to “marry couples”—I wanted to create Ceremonies with Corazón. Something personal, emotional, and intentional. Something that feels like them, not like a script they’ve heard a hundred times.

Since then, I’ve officiated over 700 ceremonies, and every single one has reinforced that I made the right decision. As the business grew, I knew I couldn’t do it alone without losing the quality and care I’m known for—so I built a team of bilingual officiants, including both male and female voices and a pastor, so we can truly serve couples in a way that feels aligned with their vision and culture.

Today, Blissful & Blessed Unions is more than a business to me—it’s purpose. It’s about creating moments people actually feel, not just witness. And that’s something I don’t take lightly.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—and I don’t think the most meaningful journeys ever are.

One of the biggest challenges was walking away from something stable to pursue something uncertain. Leaving a decade-long career in accounting meant stepping into a space where there were no guarantees—just faith, consistency, and a lot of learning in real time. Building a business from the ground up requires you to wear every hat, and there were moments where it felt overwhelming.

There have also been challenges in navigating people—setting boundaries, managing expectations, and learning that not every client or situation will align with your values. That was a big lesson for me. Early on, I wanted to say yes to everything. Over time, I realized that protecting my peace, my brand, and the experience I provide is just as important as growth.

On a personal level, building this business while navigating grief after losing my sister added another layer. There were moments where I had to show up for others on one of the happiest days of their lives while still processing my own emotions behind the scenes.

But every challenge has shaped how I lead today. It’s made me more grounded, more intentional, and more confident in what I offer. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t come from everything going right—it comes from learning how to keep going when things don’t.

And now, I can honestly say that every obstacle played a role in building something I’m incredibly proud of.

We’ve been impressed with Blissful & Blessed Unions, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Blissful & Blessed Unions is a bilingual officiant service based in Texas, but at its core, it’s about creating Ceremonies with Corazón—ceremonies that are deeply personal, intentional, and actually felt by everyone in the room.

I specialize in working with couples from all backgrounds, especially multicultural and bilingual couples who want their ceremony to reflect who they truly are—not something generic or templated. Every ceremony I create is fully customized. I take the time to understand my couples—their story, their dynamic, their families, their culture—and I translate that into a ceremony that feels natural, emotional, and seamless.

What really sets me apart is the experience. It’s not just about showing up and officiating—it’s about guiding the flow, working alongside vendors, and making sure the ceremony itself feels elevated, smooth, and meaningful from start to finish. I’m very intentional about transitions, tone, and delivery so nothing feels choppy or scripted.

As the business has grown, I’ve expanded into a team of bilingual officiants—including both male and female officiants, as well as a pastor—so we can serve couples with different preferences while still maintaining the same level of care and quality. But I also remain the lead, and couples who book me directly receive my signature elevated experience with additional personalized touches.

Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is that we’ve built a reputation for consistency and heart. We’re not trying to be the cheapest—we’re focused on creating something meaningful and memorable. Having officiated over 700 ceremonies, I’ve been trusted with one of the most important moments in people’s lives, and that’s something I never take lightly.

I want readers to know that your ceremony matters. It sets the tone for everything that follows. And when it’s done with intention, it becomes one of the most unforgettable parts of your wedding day.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories aren’t just one big moment—they’re a collection of small ones that stayed with me.

I remember going to McDonald’s with my dad. He was a truck driver and worked as a tireman at a shop, and because he struggled with alcoholism, one-on-one time with him was rare—but when it happened, it meant everything to me. I also remember him taking me to buy my first CDs. Those little moments stuck with me in a big way.

I remember going to the flea market with my grandmother, drinking coffee together. I was probably seven or eight, and it was more cream and sugar than coffee—but I loved it. She took care of me in so many ways, and she was truly a gem. She actually just passed this past December, so those memories feel even more meaningful now.

I remember playing lotería with my family—the quiet competitiveness in me definitely came out—but more than anything, I loved that we were all together.

And I’ll never forget the one soccer game my mom made it to. She was always caring for my sister Patty, so her time was stretched thin—but that day, she showed up, running up and down the bleachers and cheering me on like I was the only one there.

When I look back, it wasn’t about perfection—it was about those glimpses of love, presence, and connection. Those are the moments that shaped me, and they’re a big part of why I value creating meaningful moments for others today.
