Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Nowacki.
Hi Beth, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story starts with a book club retreat. I helped gather a group of women together, and somewhere in the middle of all the laughter, deep conversations, and genuine connection, it hit me — this is what women are craving. Not just a night out, but a real sense of belonging. Everyone brought something unique to the table, and the energy of being surrounded by supportive, empowering women was unlike anything else. I left that retreat thinking, “How do I recreate this feeling for more women?”
That question became SWAN — the Social Women’s Activity Network. I officially launched in April 2025 in Dallas with a simple but powerful mission: to create spaces where women can build real friendships, support one another, and show up as their full selves. SWAN brings women together through events, community circles, and shared experiences — with a special focus on celebrating and promoting women-owned businesses and the entrepreneurs behind them. We believe that when women connect, they also lift each other up professionally, and that community and commerce go hand in hand.
What has surprised me most is the response. Almost immediately, women started saying, “I’ve been looking for something exactly like this.” I didn’t anticipate how quickly it would grow or how deeply it would resonate — but it confirmed that the need was already there. Women were just waiting for the right space. In just one year, SWAN has grown to nearly 2,700 newsletter subscribers, 13,500 TikTok followers, and a community of women who genuinely show up for each other. And honestly, we’re just getting started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth? Absolutely not — and I laugh every time someone asks that.
The easy part has honestly been the people. Making friends, watching women connect, building something that feels warm and genuine — that part has come naturally. The community itself has never been the struggle.
Everything else though? That’s where it gets real. I had to figure out LLCs, taxes, business admin, working with different companies and platforms — none of which I had experience with when I started. There were events I had to cancel because not enough people signed up, and I’m not going to pretend that doesn’t sting when you’ve put so much into planning something.
But honestly, every hard moment has taught me something I needed to know. I’ve learned more in this one year of running SWAN than I ever expected — and even though the behind-the-scenes stuff is messy and unglamorous, I’ve built something I’m really proud of. You just figure it out as you go
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Social Women’s Activity Network?
SWAN — the Social Women’s Activity Network — is a women’s community in Dallas built around one thing: real friendship. Not networking, not small talk — actual genuine connection with women who show up for each other.
We bring women together through events, community circles, a weekly newsletter, and an ambassador program. We also have a big focus on supporting women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs because community and lifting each other up just go hand in hand for us.
What sets SWAN apart is the flexibility. You can just show up to something already planned and enjoy it — or you can create your own circle and use the SWAN platform to build it, which already has thousands of women in it. That kind of ownership and built-in support is pretty rare.
Membership is free. Circles are free to join. The only investment is if you want to create your own local circle and use the platform to grow it.
Honestly what I’m most proud of is the feeling SWAN has. Women come in not knowing anyone and leave with a whole friend group. It’s become a home away from home for a lot of people — and we’re only just getting started building that out.
If you’re new to Dallas, rebuilding your circle, or just craving something more than a one-off happy hour — SWAN is for you.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Honestly, Dallas has so much going for it. The food scene is incredible, there’s always something happening — events, activities, things to do every single weekend — and no matter what sport is in season, Dallas has a team to root for. As someone who loves bringing women together around experiences, the city basically hands you endless options.
My only complaint? DFW is massive. There are so many amazing things happening all across the metroplex and sometimes I genuinely can’t get to all of it. When something incredible is happening 45 minutes away on a Tuesday night, it’s hard! It’s a good problem to have, but it’s still a problem.
