Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamerick Brazzell.
Hi Tamerick, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story started at 3 years old singing old hymns in the little English that I knew. I come from a family singers and they had me repeating notes and runs after them, which led me to singing in the children’s choir. The older I got, the more I grew a love for music and found music to be my passion. Once I got to high school, God affirmed to me that singing in ministry was my calling and I took it seriously. I recently went through a divorce, and I truly believe that season of my life has shaped my sound in ministry. The struggles of the last season of my life has given me grace & favor for this current season! I’ve been singing as a Worship Leader/Artist for 16 years, and now as I enter my 30’s, I believe the sound that I carry is echoing Heaven like never before!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This journey has not been smooth whatsoever. I’ve had to endure significant deaths in my family, sports injuries in middle school & high school, heartbreak, and even losing myself. I went through a period in my life where I did not think I was worthy of singing or worthy of being used by God, to the point to where I took a month long sabbatical and didn’t take any gigs. In that time, God had to take me back to where I first believed in him and it’s been a rocket ride up since then!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Worship Leader, a Gospel Artist, and an Elementary music teacher. I specialize in creating a spiritual atmosphere that is directly aligned to God and a safe environment to become free from life’s circumstances. I also do studio work like lead vocals, and background vocal work! I am known for drawing people in to what God is giving me through song and singing with the power. I am also known for my creativity when it comes to musicality in whatever I am singing. I am most proud of not quitting when I could have been done with God and done with music. I am most proud of the diligence I have for my spiritual journey with God and the yearn in my heart to never get complacent with where I am. What sets me apart from others is my approach to music and my delivery of music.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I truly believe in taking big risk when it comes to the betterment of ministry and growth of creativity. I like to live on the edge and that edginess has set me apart from others doing the ministry that I do. Taking risk should have a level of strategy to it, but also be a fearless action!
