Hi Brion, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my balloon business during a time in my life where I was trying to figure out how to be present as a mom, while also building something for myself. I didn’t have everything planned out — I just knew I wanted more, not just for me, but for my kids.
In the beginning, it wasn’t easy. I was balancing mom life, responsibilities at home, and trying to learn a whole new skill at the same time. There were days I felt overwhelmed, tired, and unsure if I could really make this work… but I kept going.
What started as small setups slowly turned into something bigger. Late nights, early mornings, bringing my kids along sometimes — just doing what I could with what I had. And little by little, people started trusting me with their events, and that meant everything to me.
This business became more than just balloons. It became something that reminded me I’m capable, that I can build something of my own while still being the mom I want to be.
I’m still growing, still learning, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come. And if anything, I hope my journey shows that you don’t have to have it all figured out — you just have to start and keep going.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but everything has happened how it needed to. There have been a lot of ups and downs along the way.
In the beginning, one of my biggest struggles was self-doubt. I questioned if I was good enough or if people would actually take my work seriously. On top of that, I was learning everything from scratch — from creating the setups to pricing, communicating with clients, and running the business side of things.
Balancing mom life and business has also been a challenge. There were times I felt stretched thin, trying to give my best at home while also showing up for my clients. Late nights, early mornings, and figuring things out as I go has been part of the journey.
I’ve also had moments where things didn’t go as planned — whether it was a difficult client, something not turning out exactly how I envisioned, or just feeling overwhelmed. But those moments taught me the most. They helped me grow, set boundaries, and become more confident in what I do.
Looking back, every challenge has shaped me into a better business owner and a stronger person. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s definitely been worth it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create custom balloon décor for events, from intimate celebrations to larger setups like birthdays, baby showers, and special occasions. I specialize in organic balloon garlands, backdrop styling, and personalized designs that bring a client’s vision to life in a clean, elevated way.
What I’ve become known for is my attention to detail and the care I put into each setup. I don’t just show up and place balloons — I think through the overall look, the balance, the colors, and how everything will photograph. I want every setup to feel intentional and memorable.
What I’m most proud of is how I’ve built this business from the ground up while balancing being a mom and wife. Every event represents growth for me, not just creatively but personally. Seeing my work come together and knowing I played a part in someone’s special moment means a lot.
What sets me apart is the experience I provide. I really try to make the process smooth and stress-free for my clients, while still delivering something that feels custom and high-quality. I’m always learning, improving, and pushing myself to create setups that feel a little more elevated each time.
