Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Valadez.
Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, it all started with just wanting to create a space that felt different. Not just another workout studio, but somewhere people actually wanted to come to, where they felt comfortable, confident, and taken care of.
In the beginning, there was a lot to figure out. We were building everything from the ground up… the space, the classes, the systems, the experience. It definitely wasn’t perfect, but we stayed focused on making sure the quality and the energy were always there.
Once we opened, things started coming together in a really special way. People weren’t just showing up for a workout, they were coming for how it made them feel. The community started building naturally, and that’s when we knew we had something bigger than just a studio.
From there, it’s been a lot of learning, adjusting, and improving as we go. We’ve really listened to our clients, paid attention to what they love, and kept elevating the experience.
Now, it’s grown into something we’re really proud of. We’ve built a strong community, created a space people enjoy being in, and we’re continuing to expand and refine everything as we grow.
We still feel like we’re just getting started, but the vision is definitely coming to life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but that’s the reality of building something from the ground up. There’s always something that needs attention or a problem to solve, and you’re constantly learning as you go.
We’ve had moments where things didn’t go as planned, systems needed to be fixed, or we had to adjust quickly to keep everything running the way we wanted it to. But that’s part of the process, and it’s made us stronger and more intentional with how we operate.
We actually enjoy that side of it. Owning a business comes with challenges, but that’s also what makes it rewarding. You get to grow through it, build something meaningful, and see the impact it has.
Being able to create a space where our clients and instructors feel connected and supported is what makes it all worth it. That sense of community is something we truly value, and it’s been one of the best parts of the journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of Body Pilates . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We’re a modern Pilates studio focused on creating an experience that goes beyond just the workout. We offer mat Pilates, sculpt, and yoga-style classes with different heat levels, so there’s something for everyone whether you’re just starting or more advanced.
What really sets us apart is the energy and the attention to detail. From the moment someone walks in, we want them to feel welcomed, taken care of, and comfortable. The classes are intentional, the environment is elevated, and everything is designed to make people feel good, not just physically, but mentally too.
We’re also very community-driven. A lot of studios focus only on the workout, but for us, the connection between our clients and instructors is just as important. We host events, create experiences outside of class, and really focus on building relationships, not just memberships.
Brand-wise, we’re most proud of how everything feels cohesive and intentional. The look, the vibe, the class experience, it all aligns. It feels elevated but still approachable, which was really important to us.
More than anything, we want people to know that this is a space where they can show up as they are, feel supported, and leave feeling better than when they walked in.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
One of the biggest things is to just start and figure it out as you go. You’re never going to feel 100% ready, and waiting for everything to be perfect will only slow you down.
Also, understand that things are going to go wrong and you have to be okay with that. There will be mistakes, unexpected challenges, and moments where you have to pivot. That’s part of building any business. The key is staying consistent and not giving up when it gets uncomfortable.
Something we’ve learned is how important it is to focus on the experience you’re creating. People remember how you make them feel more than anything else, so really take the time to get that right.
