Meet Ashton Preston of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashton Preston.

Hi Ashton, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started making content at the beginning of 2025 as a hobby. I created a vision board and made the decision to just start making content because I thought it would be fun. I had no intentions of ever becoming an “influencer” but it just started to grow rapidly where I realized oh wow I have to take this a little more serious. I thought my content would be home content then I made a video about grocery shopping that hit 4mil views. Then from there I made videos about things to do in Dallas only because I thought I already do these things by myself but I never record so let’s start today. After that I realized I don’t need to have a niche I decided to just start recording whatever I feel like recording. Within the span of less than a year I’ve grown my followers from less than 3k to 40k.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say it was smooth but wouldn’t say it was extremely hard. I think that’s because I came from a place of not thinking too deep into this thing because it wasn’t my intention for it to grow this big. Even now I still have the mindset of I’m just doing something fun and I didn’t come from a place of desperation or recognition of being an influencer. I would say some of the biggest struggles were just getting over the fear of recording myself and being concerned with what other people think. Now I’ve been able to overcome that because it’s something i genuinely enjoy regardless of what others think.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Content Creator specializing in lifestyle content. I would say I’m most proud of my consistency through the process of posting content. Even through the struggles I stayed true to something I genuinely enjoy. I think what sets me apart is my authenticity. I don’t fit into the typical box of what you would think an influencer would look like. I pride myself on being the same person I am whether the camera is on or off.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
The biggest advice I could give anyone is leave your fears at the door because they will only keep you from finding that right person. What works for me is I make it a priority wherever I am to speak to a stranger. You never know who you may come across.
