Marie , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into the event industry grew organically from a passion for bringing people together through meaningful and beautifully curated experiences. For many years, I organized and supported community, cultural, charity, and themed events throughout the Dallas area and in other cities. I always loved the creative process behind transforming a space and creating an atmosphere where people could celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories.
Over time, I developed a growing desire for an elegant event space that felt modern, stylish, and versatile, while still being warm and welcoming. This vision eventually led me to create MaNDI Galore, an upscale event venue designed to host weddings, celebrations, corporate gatherings, cultural events, and social experiences with a refined aesthetic.
Building MaNDI Galore has been both a creative and entrepreneurial journey. Every detail of the venue reflects my appreciation for design, elegance, and intentional experiences. What started as a passion for organizing events evolved into creating a space where others can bring their own visions to life. Today, it is rewarding to see the venue become part of so many meaningful moments for families, professionals, organizations, and communities across the DFW area.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey to creating MaNDI Galore was definitely not a smooth road, but it was a meaningful one filled with growth, resilience, and faith.
I began searching for a venue space in 2020. Over the course of several years, I visited close to 80 properties, contacted countless leasing agents, and received well over 200 “no’s” and rejections throughout the process. Initially, I searched independently, and later in 2021, I began working with a commercial agent. Even then, there were many challenges along the way. Some spaces seemed promising at first, but eventually presented obstacles related to zoning, renovation requirements, parking limitations, or city approvals.
Eventually, I found a location in Plano, Texas, which was always my preferred area because of its central location and accessibility near President George Bush Turnpike and Highway 75. Once the location was secured, the next phase involved renovations, permits, inspections, and aligning with city requirements. That process required patience, persistence, and trust in the vision.
Looking back, I learned that consistency, resilience, and taking intentional steps toward a vision are incredibly important. Most importantly, I relied heavily on prayer and faith throughout the journey. There were many moments where I could have given up, but I trusted God’s guidance and timing through every stage of the process.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
MaNDI Galore is an elegant event venue located in Plano, Texas that specializes in hosting memorable and elevated special occasions. We host weddings, engagement celebrations, birthdays, quinceañeras, corporate events, cultural gatherings, themed events, fundraisers, and social experiences.
One of the things that makes MaNDI Galore unique is that the venue already offers a naturally sophisticated and upscale aesthetic. The space was intentionally designed with a modern black-and-white luxury feel that allows clients to walk into an environment that already feels elegant before adding their personal touch.
The venue features flowing white drapery throughout the ballroom, a stunning floral entrance wall, cocktail lounge areas, a full-service bar with coolers and prep space, a white platform stage with uplighting, luxurious acrylic infinity chairs, acrylic head tables, and one of our signature focal points — a breathtaking chandelier canopy installation above the dance floor.
Clients appreciate that the venue is both refined and versatile. While the space already has a polished atmosphere, it can still be customized beautifully for each client’s vision and event style. We are also known for our excellent client experience, open vendor flexibility, and 5-star Google reviews. Clients are able to bring in their preferred food, beverages, décor, and vendors, which gives them creative freedom while still enjoying a luxury setting.
What I am most proud of is seeing an idea evolve from vision to reality. To go from years of dreaming, planning, setbacks, prayers, and perseverance to creating a space where people celebrate some of the most important moments of their lives is deeply fulfilling. Knowing that MaNDI Galore has become part of weddings, birthdays, cultural celebrations, community gatherings, and milestone memories is incredibly rewarding.
One of my proudest moments was launching The Black Friday Affair, MaNDI Galore’s annual signature gala experience centered around elegance, entertainment, community, and giving back. The event takes place on Black Friday and combines luxury and philanthropy in a unique way. During the 2025 event, we were honored to support the North Texas Food Bank and contribute toward providing over 9,000 meals to families in need. That was a very meaningful moment for me, and we are excited to continue growing The Black Friday Affair in the years ahead.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I view risk-taking as a leap of faith, but not a reckless one.
For me, taking risks is about having vision, seeking clarity, remaining disciplined, praying for guidance, and then trusting the process enough to move forward despite uncertainty. I don’t believe in acting impulsively, but I do believe that growth often requires stepping beyond fear.
When I was searching for a venue, I faced years of challenges and over 200 rejections from leasing agents and property owners. There were moments where the process felt discouraging, but I continued believing that the right space would eventually come. That experience taught me that perseverance is often just as important as opportunity.
At the same time, even with planning and preparation, there will always be unexpected obstacles. Entrepreneurship constantly teaches you how to adapt. I have learned to focus less on the problem itself and more on identifying solutions and next steps. That mindset has helped me navigate difficult moments with greater clarity and resilience.
I encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to take thoughtful risks and to believe in their vision enough to pursue it. Sometimes you have to take the leap before everything feels perfectly certain. You may fall, face rejection, or encounter setbacks along the way, but you keep learning, growing, and moving forward. You keep jumping.
