Today we’d like to introduce you to Joao Charnet.
Hi Joao, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from Brazil, where music has always been a huge part of my life. I played in a band that toured across the country, and through that experience I developed a deep passion not only for performing, but also for guitar tone, recording, and the gear behind it all.
In 2019, I moved to the United States and started building a collection of rare and exclusive high-gain amplifiers, cabinets, and recording gear. As both a guitarist and recording enthusiast, I realized there was a gap in the market — many musicians want access to world-class tones and boutique equipment, but most of these amps are extremely expensive, rare, or impossible to find locally.
That’s what led me to create Reamp Forge. The idea was to build a professional reamping service designed specifically for recording guitarists, giving them access to unique, hard-to-find gear that can elevate their recordings without needing to own the equipment themselves. What started as a passion for tone and collecting gear evolved into a business focused on helping artists achieve professional, inspiring guitar sounds.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been visibility and getting the brand in front of the right audience. I’ve spent years building knowledge, collecting rare gear, and creating a high-quality setup, but in today’s world, having something great isn’t enough by itself — people need to discover you first.
Another challenge was essentially starting over after moving from Brazil to the United States in 2019. I left behind an established music network and had to rebuild connections, relationships, and opportunities from scratch in a new country.
Building Reamp Forge has also required balancing creativity with the business side of things. Sourcing rare equipment, designing the studio, learning marketing, building a website, creating content, and developing a recognizable brand identity all take time and persistence.
But honestly, those challenges have also pushed me to improve constantly. Every obstacle has helped shape the vision for Reamp Forge and motivated me to keep building something unique that stands out in the recording and guitar community.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a computer engineer and currently work full-time in the technology industry, specializing in cloud infrastructure, automation, and large-scale systems engineering. A big part of my work involves solving complex technical problems, building scalable solutions, and creating efficient processes through automation.
What sets me apart is that I’ve always balanced both technical and creative worlds at the same time. While my professional background is deeply rooted in engineering and technology, music has always been a major part of my life. That combination of technical precision and creative passion ultimately led me to build Reamp Forge.
I’m especially proud of being able to take skills from engineering — problem solving, attention to detail, system design, and persistence — and apply them to building a unique music-related business from the ground up. From designing the recording and routing systems to creating the brand and online presence, I’ve been involved in every aspect of the process.
I think what really differentiates me is the ability to bridge those two worlds: combining an engineering mindset with a lifelong passion for music, tone, and creativity.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me primarily through Reamp Forge, whether that’s for professional guitar reamping services, recording collaborations, tone development, or creative projects related to music production and high-gain guitar sound.
I’m always open to connecting with musicians, producers, content creators, and companies in the music industry who are passionate about guitar tone, recording, and innovation. Since Reamp Forge focuses heavily on rare and exclusive equipment, collaborations involving demos, reviews, studio projects, and creative media are especially exciting to me.
Support can also come from simply helping spread the word. One of the biggest challenges for independent creators and businesses today is visibility, so every share, recommendation, collaboration, or introduction genuinely helps grow the brand and reach more musicians who could benefit from the service.
At the core of everything I do is a passion for music, creativity, and building something authentic that other musicians can be inspired by and use in their own projects.
