Hi Chanley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began working with fragrance around 2022 and became interested in creating my own scent profiles for candles and other home fragrance mediums. During that time, my interest in perfumery began to develop, so I researched online and purchased books to learn the art of perfumery.
While experimenting with various accords, I was inspired by the correlation between building accords and scent profiles with the creation of music. I myself, am not a musician but have grown up around them all my life. My father was in bands when he was younger and played the guitar for me all the time. I started to see the way that lines in music would develop a sound and how the process was similar when trying to make a scent “sing”.
From there, I started to create based on music inspiration. I would find myself in the studio, listening to certain types of music and it would influence the notes I would want to work with that day. I knew then, that I need to create a line of fragrance that told a story tied with music and the things that inspire me most.
In 2024, I released 8 scents in my c0llection that all feature different genres of music and each have their own story to tell.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting your own business can be a scary step to take but end the end, being able to support yourself, doing something you love is the ultimate goal.
As a solopreneur, it has had its obstacles. You have to wear many hats and staying on top of everything can be challenging but its all worth it in the end. I think the biggest challenge has been to find time to continue to create and not get too caught up in the business side of things. The art is what is important, so staying true to that and being able to make new art is always the goal.

I am the owner and operator of Fine-Tuned Fragrance where we offer perfume and home fragrance based on music inspirations ,with a heavy emphasis on the Electric Guitar. All of the scents have been hand-crafted and each scent is unique. When you purchase a scent, you will also receive a QR code to listen to the music that inspired it. My creative process includes listening to music while creating, so you can catch the vibe I was trying to inspire.
I am proud of the fact that my scents are unique and something that will set you apart from others when wearing them and provide a muti-sensorial experience for the wearer.
