Daily Inspiration: Meet Rielly Bailey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rielly Bailey.

Hi Rielly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I didn’t grow up thinking I’d work in events, but looking back, it makes a lot of sense. I’ve always been the one who’s organized, detail-obsessed, and naturally takes the lead (very on brand for me as a Virgo). It wasn’t until college, though, that I had a moment where everything really clicked.

I got involved in my sorority and started helping plan events, and I quickly realized I loved not just the creative side, but the logistics behind it – the timelines, the flow, the details that make everything run smoothly. Around that same time, I joined a student-led craft beer and wine forum where we fully planned and executed a large-scale event. That experience solidified it for me. It was the first time I thought, this is what I’m supposed to be doing.

From there, I dove in. I interned with multiple wedding planners in both Texas and Colorado, learning different approaches and getting a real behind-the-scenes look at how events come together. After graduating, I stepped into a catering and event sales manager role in Colorado, where I handled everything from selling the event to executing it – managing invoicing, food ordering, prep, and day-of logistics. It was a hands-on role that gave me a full understanding of how all the moving pieces connect.

When I moved back to Texas, I joined House of CLRK, where I focused heavily on event design – building out floor plans, creating design decks, and helping shape the overall look and feel of events. That’s where I really refined my eye for design and how to create events that feel cohesive and intentional.

After becoming a mom, my perspective shifted. I still loved the work, but I wanted more ownership over how I spent my time and the kind of events I was taking on. Starting RB Event Co was a leap of faith, but it gave me the ability to build something that reflects both my style and my priorities – where I can be selective, be hands-on, and create a schedule that works for my family while still doing what I love.

RB Event Co is really the result my story as whole. Every role I’ve had has given me a different perspective, and now I’m able to bring all of it together – design, logistics, and execution – to create events that feel elevated but also actually work. That’s always been the goal.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, and I think the hardest part was making the decision to walk away from my role at House of CLRK. I remember going back and forth on it for a while because it was something I had worked really hard for and learned so much from. On paper, it didn’t make sense to leave. But I kept coming back to the same feeling that I wanted more ownership over my work and more control over how I was spending my time.

At the same time, I had just become a mom, and that shifted everything for me. I didn’t want to keep building something where I wasn’t the one making the final decisions or setting the direction. That was really the turning point. Once I made the decision, it felt equal parts exciting and terrifying, but I knew it was the right move.

From there, the challenges looked different. I wasn’t just planning events anymore, I was building a business. Figuring out pricing, setting boundaries, finding the right clients, and learning when to say no were all things I had to get comfortable with pretty quickly.

Balancing all of that with motherhood has also been a learning curve. My time is more limited, so I’ve had to be very intentional about what I take on. In a lot of ways, that’s made me better at what I do because I’m more focused and more selective.

It definitely hasn’t been easy, but each step has made me more confident in how I run my business and the kind of experience I want to create for my clients.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I plan and design events with a strong focus on both the overall vision and how everything actually functions. I’m not a one-size-fits-all planner. I prefer to meet my clients where they are in the process and adjust my level of involvement based on what they need and how they like to work. Every event and every client is different, and I approach it that way.

I work across weddings, social events, corporate gatherings, and milestone celebrations, but no matter the type of event, my approach stays consistent. Design and logistics have to work together. An event can be beautiful, but if the flow is off or the timeline doesn’t make sense, guests feel it. That’s always top of mind for me.

My background is a mix of both design and hands-on execution, and I bring those two together in every event I’m part of. I think through how a space will look, but also how people will move through it, how the timing will feel, and how each part of the event connects to the next. It’s not just about creating something that photographs well, it’s about creating something that works in real life.

What I’m most proud of is the experience I create for my clients. I want them to feel confident in the process and actually be able to enjoy their event without managing it themselves. When everything feels seamless on their end and intentional from start to finish, that’s the goal every time.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is creating experiences that feel intentional and worth celebrating. Life can be heavy, busy, and sometimes honestly overwhelming, and I think it’s really important to make space for the moments that bring people together in a positive way.

That mindset is a big part of why I started RB Event Co. I’ve always believed there is always something worth celebrating, whether it’s a major milestone or something smaller that still deserves to be recognized. Events don’t have to be over the top to matter, but they should feel thoughtful and meaningful to the people involved.

That also shapes how I approach my work. I care just as much about how an event feels as I do how it looks. The energy in the room, how guests experience it, how easy it feels for my client to actually be present. Those things matter more than just putting something together that photographs well.

At the end of the day, I want the people I’m working with to walk away feeling like it was time well spent, that it meant something, and that they were able to fully enjoy it. That’s always the goal for me.
