Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Wilson.
Hi Alexis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Born in Chicago, I was always surrounded by music. Both of my parents are huge music enthusiast in all genres. Being a little girl sitting in the backseat of the car, listening to all of the greats like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Tina, Mari, Anita Baker, and so much more, I developed such an amazing love for music. It wasn’t until I was in middle school that I even realized that I could sing. Ever since then, I have been an enamored with R&B and soul, and I’ve always expressed myself through music in so many ways. I began doing live shows and it’s been such an amazing experience.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I definitely wouldn’t say that it’s been a smooth road. The industry definitely isn’t always that nice. I will say that I’ve had so many opportunities to express myself just through networking and being a joy to be around.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a singer, entertainer, and music enthusiast. Since I’ve been in Dallas, specifically, I’ve done so many different competitions and been a part of quite a few live music entertainment showcases. I’m extremely proud of coming to Dallas not knowing a single soul and still pursuing my live music career and being able to do what I love best. I feel like my music style and my way of singing is definitely something that can’t be duplicated. I put my heart and my soul into every single showcase and It has definitely been something that people have noticed. I feel extremely grateful for all of the opportunities that I’ve been given since I’ve been here.
What’s next?
Currently, I am writing my first EP! This is something that I’ve been working on for years and I’m so excited that I finally get to bring it to life. This album will showcase all different types of music and emotions that have been pent up over the years. I’m truly excited to show everyone what my particular sound is.
