Conversations with Muzikal Alkhemizt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Muzikal Alkhemizt.

Hi Muzikal Alkhemizt, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Muzikal Alkhemizt, aka MZA Band, started forming around 2019, but officially came together in 2026. The band’s name was conceived with the mindset that each member brought something different to the table, and together, we could transform music into a listening experience that was not only heard but felt. The band has had some changes throughout these short years, with quite a few wonderful musicians and singers gracing the stage and continuing to put in great work on and off the stage in the DFW Metroplex and beyond. Currently the band roster consists of Shaquawn “Quawn” Ross(Keys), Max Gann(Bass), Anthony “Ant” Stroud(Lead Guitar) and Q “Philly” Leonard(Drums/MD/Founder), who have been playing together roughly 3 years now. The band gigs not only around the DFW Metroplex area, but travels when needed, always prepared to bring a great show full of energy no matter the city or state we’re in!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall, the journey has been smoother than most others experiences, but as with anything in life, it’s come with its own bumps in road here and there. They definitely have allowed the band to grow and shape its identity, knowing that professionalism is just as important as the music itself in this business.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Muzikal Alkhemizt is a band that has transformed into a production company, not only playing live gigs with different artists, but also doing studio work as well. The band has played at various well known venues around the DFW Metroplex, including The House Of Blues, with alot of other great venues allowing us to grace their stage. One thing that we believe sets us apart from other bands is the level of energy we bring to each song, set and show. Our goal is to make each experience feel as if it’s a concert for the audience, even on the most smallest of scales, so the audience is immersed and connects with the band, from dancing to singing along with each song. There’s not much better in the entertainment business than being able to create music with the people you are close with, and be able to transfer that energy to the stage and out to the crowd, where its reciprocated right back!!

Any big plans?
Presently, the band is in the process of working on a debut ep, while continuing to work with various artists around the Metroplex, from cover shows to studio work. There are other things in the works for the band, including new merchandise, and offering opportunities to bring in other musicians/bands that want to collaborate!
