Daily Inspiration: Meet Jada Huddin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Huddin.

Hi Jada, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We are Dallas natives that started growing our family and farm in Rockwall & Wills Point, Tx about 12 years ago. In 2022 we opened our Rockwall farm to the public as a petting farm, featuring a seasonal pumpkin patch and bluebonnet field. We’ve grown each year, adding new attractions and welcoming even more animal friends. Our farm is home to a wide variety of both traditional farm animals to exotics – including camels, sloths, otters, mini donkeys, llamas, and many more.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Caring for more than 350 animals is no small task. Our days start at 6 am, checking on each animal, and continue well past dark and sometimes even all night.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve been an RN for 20 years and still work part-time night shift at Children’s Hospital but now my day job has turned into working with the animals and maintaining the farm, especially the camels. So, when anyone ask, I just say ‘cameleer’.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
We reinvest our profits back into the farm and the animals, continually improving their care and habitat. Our goal is to give the community opportunities to interact with the animals and develop the same appreciation for them that we have.

Pricing:

  • Admission to the farm is $15, includes animal feed, and under 2 is free.
