Today we’d like to introduce you to Cherrelle Townsend.
Cherrelle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was raised in church and servant leadership has always been a passion of mine. Once I graduated college and started working for a big company, I got caught up in just going through the movements and not actually living. I felt like I wasn’t living the life I thought I would. I developed anxiety and would be sad a lot because I would compare myself to people on social media. My anxiety stemmed from a few different areas however the sadness was directly correlated with me comparing myself. I had a friend that kept inviting me to her church and I finally decided to go. I went and never turned back. I started serving and was lead to start a blog. I knew I want to share my story and encourage others through inspiration.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There are always going to be bumps in the road, but you have to keep going. Hard work and persistence pays off. Don’t listen to the naysayers. If you have a passion inside of you that won’t leave then that is a purpose project that will come to fruition if you keep working on it.
We’d love to hear more about Cheroprah | Inspiration Overflow.
I write for my blog – Inspiration Overflow. I tell my story and share my experiences in hopes of saving, if only one person, from worrying and heartache. I’m most proud of what I do, which is encouraging others. I love to see happy people. Everything I write is a true personal narrative. I have a close-knit family however they learn new things about me from my blog.
We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
I believe women sometimes struggle with having a voice and finding their place. We constantly have to prove ourselves to men and those around us to be heard.
