Check Out Ivonne Perez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivonne Perez.

Hi Ivonne, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey to building CelestialHands MT began 15 years ago when I hit a ceiling as a bilingual receptionist with no room for advancement. One day, while massaging my daughter, a spark ignited; I realized there was a science to touch, and though it wasn’t a childhood dream, it became my true calling. Despite my massage school almost shutting down right before graduation, I persevered, remembering an instructor who told me I “had the hand.” Today, I finally understand what she meant—it is an intuitive gift to read bodies and deliver custom, therapeutic massages that leave clients floating in a blissful state they call “massage drunk,” an incredible feeling I ironically have never experienced myself since I am the one giving it. After spending 15 respectful years gaining experience at franchises and a recreation center, the stars finally aligned this past January 2026. Listening to years of encouragement from clients and friends, my two daughters and I organically found our perfect home at 212 S Main St, Irving, TX 75060. Under one roof, we are three strong, successful women hustling for our own independent businesses—I handle the bodywork, one daughter specializes in brows, Brazilians, and Korean lashes, and my other daughter is a hair stylist, with our new space even allowing us to expand into facials. Working together brings me immense peace; our communication is flawless because there are no egos, and neither of us thinks she is better than the other as we build our dreams side by side.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t say it was a completely smooth road, and honestly, the struggle doesn’t just stop once you open your doors. Early on, my biggest obstacle was working my receptionist job during the day and going to massage school at night. It was exhausting, and then the school almost shut down right before graduation! After graduating, I spent 15 years working hard for others before I could finally take the leap to work for myself. A lot of people think that once you become your own boss, everything gets easy and you instantly become wealthy. The truth is, it’s the exact opposite in the beginning. The financial pressure is real, and I struggle more now carrying both a home mortgage and a business rental space. Paying double bills every month is a heavy load because business goes up and down—you can have a completely full week, and then the next week you don’t. You don’t get a guaranteed paycheck like you do when you work for someone else. It is a daily hustle, but the freedom to build my own legacy alongside my daughters makes the pressure worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
“I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and the owner of CelestialHands MT. I specialize in clinical lymphatic drainage using the Vodder technique, which is completely backed by science. I am best known for my true, custom therapeutic massages. I am most proud of the fact that even on the slow days, massage remains my absolute passion—I have so much love for the healing process. What truly sets me apart from others are the extra details I bring to the table: I start and end every session with aromatherapy oils, use hot towels for my clients’ feet, and often give complimentary enhancements if I see a client’s body really needs it. I also share a lot of educational information so my clients understand how their bodies heal. I do not do deep tissue massage; instead, I focus on targeted, custom pressure that gets results while still leaving you feeling ‘massage drunk.'”

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
“People know me as someone who specializes in healing, wellness, and taking great care of human bodies. The surprising twist? Do not ever give me a houseplant because I will absolutely kill it! I can naturally read a person’s body and know exactly how to fix their tension, but when it comes to keeping a simple green plant alive, I just don’t have that touch at all. If you want to show me love, bring me coffee or chocolate instead of flowers—my plants definitely prefer to stay far away from me! Hahaha.”
