Today we’d like to introduce you to Gedeon Bring.
Hi Gedeon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a 20-year old drummer in two bands in the DFW: I play with Colton Hamilton and Izaiah Forman. I recently released an album with Colton Hamilton titled the Curse of Colton Hamilton, which is a collection of 11 songs that we’ve written over the last year.
I’m also an author, having released the Museums of Dallas-Fort Worth & Beyond last July, which provides an overview of over 150 museums in the DFW metroplex and greater surrounding area.
I recently released Maxwell’s Trouble on the Mound, which is a middle-grade novel aimed towards athletes and curious readers. It’s loosely based on my time playing baseball throughout middle school and high school.
I started playing drums in 6th grade after listening to rock and metal for a while. I played every day, and drumming quickly became my passion.
During the beginning of the covid pandemic, my dad and I started playing music together. We started out as a bass and drum duo, which was quite fun. We frequented a few open mic nights, including the Millhouse in Garland. After about a year meeting great musicians and having fun, we met Colton Hamilton.
From there, we had him over to jam, booked our first shows three months later, and have been off to the races ever since.
We have played over 200 shows all across North Texas and the DFW over the past 4 years.
Because I wanted to expand my horizon and play with younger people, I started playing with Izaiah Forman and Chloee Rae. Both of them are energetic individuals who bring a fresh presence to the stage.
I also produce music to help any of my bands save money from studio fees.
During my free time, I’m a curator, event coordinator, and tour guide at the Coppell Historical Museum. There, I craft exhibits that remember the history of the cpmmunity of Coppell, the old families, and the present day. It’s a true pleasure to work there.
I consider myself to be more of a curator of experiences rather than lessons.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My ascension has been riddled with challenges, but most of them are clerical.
The greatest ley to my personal growth has been patience with myself and those around me. I’m hardwired to attempt to outdo myself every day, but some days I have to check my ambition.
When I write a book or a song, I have to tell myself to leave it alone after I spend my focus.
When I produce music, I have to focus on the little details.
When I undertake and ambitious creative or physical project at the museum, I have to ensure that I don’t rush myself.
Patience has preserved the quality, personality, and charmingly rugged quality of my works.

I’m a drummer, author, full-time college student, and museum curator.
I’m especially proud of my ability to manage my chaotic schedule. Time management allows me to perform at my best in every capacity.
Throughout Coppell, I’m known for being a diligent elployee, an intelligent thinker, and a kind person in the community. I create experiences for the community to enjoy, socialize at, and learn something about their community.

I’d love to emphasize the role that patience has played in my life, as well as what it can do for everybody!
Connecting with your community is also extremely important.
Lastly, if you have an idea, no matter how crazy it sounds, sit down and think about how you can execute that idea. You may surprise yourself!
