Hi Logan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The whole idea of chamoy candy started as a snack whenever I was younger I seen people make them and thought oh yeah I can do that too. Started small at first just making a bowl and trying different gummies then it started getting bigger with my family & friends asking me to make batches for birthday parties & get-togethers. My mom is the one who actually brought up the idea of me starting a small business to make money on the side, so what went from a part time side hustle turned into a full time investment. Been 4 years ever since she brought up the idea and now we always go to different pop ups all over the DFW, marketing ourselves through social media, & keeping the regular customers happy. Looking back at everything thinking wow a small idea really just turned into a big investment and I’ll happily say I’m glad the idea came to life and I’m still striving for bigger goals.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Everyday is a different it’s not always gotta be a smooth road & not always gonna be bumpy either. There was definitely some struggles along the way a lot of setbacks, self doubts, & disencouragement, But I mean that’s apart of the process you’re gonna fail & struggle but you learn to approach the situation differently & attack it even harder than before knowing you have a smooth path ahead of you once you get over the bump. I always like to say if you’re not struggling or feeling uncomfortable then are you really making any progress?
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently I’m in my Career job for CNC Machining. We manufacture different parts for several other big name companies and being in cnc is amazing cause if you set your mind to it you can make it and it could be anything from a pair of dices to new car parts just about anything you can think of. I’m most proud of the fact that I jumped into my career job early I’m only 21 and have already been here for 2 years working with guys twice & triple my age, I love to get a headstart on anything and I’m gonna make sure to keep pushing for more.
What sets me apart from others?
Well career wise not to much honestly, I would have to say maybe knowing certain knowledge that allows me to bypass situations & knowing that as a 21 y/o I’m a lot more mature than other young adults who you’ll see still trying to figure out life and how to go about it.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I say talk to everybody & treat people the way you’ll like to be treated, because they’ll be times you may be talking to a business owner, an investor, or even a high valued person and you wouldn’t ever know till you get to talking with them and you get to hear their story. It allows you to gain knowledge & gain a connection with that person who may help you to push your business out further or may even give you advice to use to your advantage.
