Today we’d like to introduce you to Soshewept.
Hi soshewept, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We started back in September 2025 and initially just treated this band as a group of homies who had a similar music taste and wanted to jam, but we quickly got invested and it evolved into what it is now
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wouldn’t say its been completely smooth or easy, we’ve definitely had our bumps in the road, from conflict with band mates to the commute to and from band practice ranging anywhere from a 30 minute drive to a 2.5 hour day trip, we’ve had our fair share of rough spots, but i think taking everything in account we’ve handled everything well and ultimately its helped the band grow and learn
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are what we call “totally serious metalcore”, kind of meant to be a joke because while this scene comes off as very aggressive and tough, and while a lot of people treat it that way, we’re not all that serious and we like to laugh and make fun of things that don’t matter in the scene, of course we take our music and our art serious, and we genuinely care for each other and the scene, we don’t like to cause drama or create unnecessary conflict, and unfortunately we do see a lot of that happening in this scene. I think what sets us apart from others is our humility in the scene and the amount of individuality each one of us brings to the table, there’s a lot of cookie cutter kind of people in this scene, and there’s also a lot of ego that goes around in the scene, and while i am bias i feel each person in this band is so uniquely themselves ive never met anyone like them
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
i wouldn’t say so no, i think we mostly do our “best” through experiences and trial and error, there’s no book that can tell you how to be in a band and there’s no book to tell you how to navigate each and every obstacle, you kind of have to work through everything one step at a time
