Meet Vicky Hawkins of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicky Hawkins.

Hi Vicky, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Blink Event Boutique officially celebrated its first anniversary this June, but event planning has been a part of my life for more than 15 years.

My journey actually began in the corporate world, working in Marketing and Public Relations for Comcast Communications (now Xfinity). After two years, I relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where I joined Charter Communications (now Spectrum) in a similar role. There, I had the opportunity to work more closely with television networks, community partners, and corporate event planning. It was during those years that I discovered just how much I loved creating experiences that brought people together.

When I became a mom, I made the decision to put my corporate career on pause so I could focus on raising my children. Even though I stepped away from the office, I never stepped away from event planning. I found myself planning birthdays, weddings, baby showers, graduations, church events, and just about every celebration you could think of for family and friends. It was never about the paycheck; I simply loved seeing people smile and creating moments they would remember forever.

Over the years, so many people encouraged me to make it official. After lots of prayer and a big leap of faith, I finally did. That’s how Blink Event Boutique was born.

Today, I have the privilege of helping families, couples, nonprofits, churches, and businesses bring their visions to life. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a large-scale event, I believe every celebration tells a story and deserves thoughtful details, meaningful experiences, and a personal touch.

For me, event planning has never just been about beautiful decor. It’s about serving people, building relationships, and creating moments that leave lasting memories. Seeing a client’s vision come to life and watching the joy on their face is what makes this work so rewarding.

At the heart of Blink Event Boutique is a simple mission: to serve others with excellence, creativity, and love while creating unforgettable experiences, one celebration at a time.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Entrepreneurship is one of the biggest leaps of faith you’ll ever take. You jump without knowing exactly where you’ll land, and there will be plenty of bumps along the way. It’s a constant ebb and flow; you’ll have incredible highs and challenging lows. The key is learning to ride the roller coaster, stay resilient, and keep moving forward because every challenge is preparing you for what’s next.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love bringing my clients’ visions to life. I’m known for really listening to what my clients want, learning their style, and paying attention to the little details that matter most to them. More often than not, the finished event ends up being even better than what they originally envisioned because I truly enjoy thinking outside the box and adding those special touches they may not have even considered.

To me, event planning isn’t just about tables, balloons, and beautiful decor. It’s about creating an atmosphere. It’s about how people feel the moment they walk into the room. I want guests to feel welcomed, celebrated, and connected. Every event tells a story, and my job is to make sure that story is reflected in every detail—from the first impression to the last goodbye.

At the end of the day, I don’t just want my clients to love their event; I want them to enjoy the journey getting there. That’s what Blink Event Boutique is all about: creating meaningful experiences, unforgettable memories, and celebrations that people will be talking about long after the event is over.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Future clients can reach out to me through my Instagram page or by email at blinkeventboutique@gmail.com. I’d love the opportunity to chat, hear all about your vision, and see how I can help bring it to life. Whether you’re planning a birthday, wedding, baby shower, nonprofit event, corporate event, or any special celebration, I’m always excited to meet new clients and create something that’s uniquely you.
